dc.description.abstractenglish | Some of the modern technologies require materials with an unusual combination of properties, impossible to achieve with metals, ceramics and conventional polymers. The requirement of new combinations in the mechanical properties of materials causes the development and study of composite materials such as fiberglass polymer matrix, in this work we investigate the characterization of the composite material of fiberglass and polymeric matrix (epoxy) for reinforcement orientations in the material of 0, 45 and 90 degrees, analyzing the mechanical behavior of the material using the criteria of maximum stress and maximum strain and the continuom damage mecahanics (CDM) in order to observe the behavior of damage in fiber and the matrix of the material, that identifies the values of failure in the material, in addition a computational model with the software ANSYS that can recreate the conditions of the material and that can be the basis of future simulations for more complex geometries. Laboratory tests were carried out in accordance with the conditions stipulated by ASTM D3039 using the machine MTS Bionix Servo hydraulic test system, model 370, with the objective of determining the stress mechanical properties of the material for the different orientations of the reinforcement in the composite material.
