dc.description.abstract	La sostenibilidad de las ciudades en Colombia implica no solo el desarrollo de la infraestructura gris, también, se requieren acciones que permitan garantizar la conservación y manejo forestal de los árboles en su interior. Con este fin, el presente estudio buscó tratar esta temática desde el diagnóstico silvicultural del componente arbóreo en el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga, unidad territorial conformada por los municipios de Bucaramanga, Girón, Piedecuesta y Lebrija. Para esto, se estableció un procedimiento en campo donde fue colectada información primaria de variables dendrométricas en una muestra puntal de individuos arbóreos asociados al desarrollo urbanístico, a partir de la cual, se proponen lineamentos para su manejo integral. Los resultados, indican variaciones marcadas en el desarrollo de los árboles a nivel de clases altimétricas y diamétricas, reflejo de las particularidades en crecimiento que puede generar el asocio con la infraestructura gris, también, se identificaron los estados en copas, fuste y raíz siendo esta última variable la que mejor condición presentó. Se concluye que el muestreo del componente arbóreo debe hacerse con mayor frecuencia, a fin de consolidar una base de datos sobre la cual se pueda conocer mejor el 100% de los individuos, de igual forma, los árboles que conformaron el estudio, son un referente de los lineamientos de intervención propuestos, a fin de lograr mejores condiciones de cada individuo, por último, todas las intervenciones del componente forestal urbano del área de estudio, se debe trabajar en conjunto otras entidades como empresas prestadoras de servicios públicos, esto a fin de lograr un contexto de sostenibilidad urbana y forestal.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The sustainability of cities in Colombia involves not only the development of gray infrastructure, but also requires actions to ensure the conservation and management of the trees within them. To this end, this study sought to address this issue from the silvicultural diagnosis of the tree component in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga, a territorial unit formed by the municipalities of Bucaramanga, Girón, Piedecuesta and Lebrija. For this purpose, a field procedure was established where primary information on dendrometric variables was collected in a sample of tree individuals associated with urban development, from which guidelines for their integral management are proposed. The results indicate marked variations in the development of trees at the level of altimetric and diametric classes, reflecting the particularities in growth that can be generated by the association with gray infrastructure, also, the states in crowns, trunk and root were identified, being this last variable the one that presented the best condition. It is concluded that the sampling of the tree component should be done more frequently, in order to consolidate a database on which 100% of the individuals can be better known, likewise, the trees that made up the study, are a reference of the proposed intervention guidelines, in order to achieve better conditions of each individual, finally, all interventions of the urban forest component of the study area, should work together with other entities such as public service providers, this in order to achieve a context of urban and forest sustainability.
