dc.description.abstractNo existía un Centro relacionado con nuevos materiales en Colombia y era evidente la necesidad no sólo de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, sino también de la comunidad y la industria; con el Centro de Biomateriales se satisfacen estas necesidades. Un sistema de gestión de calidad se utiliza como herramienta fundamental para lograr que el cliente reconozca competencia técnica e idoneidad en las pruebas que realiza un laboratorio. La Universidad Industrial de Santander tiene como política institucional, mejorar la calidad de los servicios que presta a la comunidad en general, se encuentra en un proceso de acreditación de las diferentes carreras que ofrece, motivo por el cual el Laboratorio de Biomateriales desea implementar un sistema de calidad para garantizar que los resultados que emite son confiables. Inicialmente se realizó un diagnóstico, el cual se tomó como base para continuar al siguiente paso que fue proporcionar capacitación al personal del laboratorio en la norma NTC ISO 17025, para luego realizar la correspondiente documentación e implementación del sistema; una vez implementado el sistema se realizó la correspondiente auditoría interna con sus respectivo ajustes, con el fin de evaluar la conformidad. La documentación del sistema de calidad del laboratorio cuenta con una estructura documental conformada por un manual de calidad, en el cual se encuentra la descripción del sistema, un manual de procedimientos en los cuales se describe quien, cómo, cuando, donde y por qué efectuar las actividades y por último unos instructivos, planos, formatos, registros y normas los cuales garantizan un cumplimiento de requisitos del cien por ciento; sin embargo este sistema debe evolucionar en la medida en que la organización presente cambios.
dc.description.abstractenglishThere was not a Center related with the search of new materials in Colombia and was evident the necessity not only at the Universidad Industrial de Santander, but also the community and industry regarding the search and innovation in new materials; with the creation of the center of biomaterials this necessity was fulfilled. The Universidad Industrial de Santander has as institutional policy to improve the quality of the services offered to the community. For this reason, the University is in a process of accreditation of the different careers that offers, so the Biomaterials Research Laboratory is interested in implementing a quality management system with the purpose of guaranteeing the results it emits are reliable. Initially a diagnosis was made and it was taken as bases to continue to the following step which was to provide training to the personnel of the laboratory in norm NTC ISO 17025, soon to make the corresponding documentation and implementation of the system; once implemented the system the corresponding internal audit with its respective adjustments was made, with the purpose of evaluating the conformity. The documentation of the quality system of the laboratory counts on a documentary structure conformed by a quality manual, where is the description of the system; a procedures manual which describes who, how, when, where and why to carry out the activities; and finally an instructive, flat ones, formats, registries and norms which guarantee a fulfillment of requirements of a hundred percent; however, this system must evolve in the measurement in which the present organization changes.
