dc.description.abstractLos Sistemas de Información apoyan y mejoran el desarrollo de las actividades básicas de una organización, pero a medida que los procesos evolucionan, que aumenta la competitividad del mercado y que surgen nuevas tecnologías, el rendimiento de estas herramientas disminuye debido a la falta de un mantenimiento adecuado. Por esta razón, es necesario realizar procesos de Reingeniería a los Sistemas, con el fin de obtener mejoras considerables en aspectos críticos tales como costos, calidad, servicio y rapidez, y en forma general, para lograr un aumento significativo en el rendimiento que éstos ofrecen a las organizaciones. Debido a la enorme importancia de este proceso en el desarrollo de software de calidad, el Proyecto de Grado se enfocó en la realización de un proceso de Reingeniería al Módulo de Control de Insumos para la Planta de Producción de Dana Transejes Colombia, migrando este de Power Builder a una plataforma Oracle, y el cual garantizara la integración de éste subsistema a los ya existentes, permitiendo así, administrar de manera eficaz el manejo de los insumos, que aunque no son elementos propios de la producción, si son indispensables para su realización. Además, teniendo en cuenta que Oracle fue la herramienta cliente/servidor elegida para la gestión de Base de Datos, se aprovechó al máximo las utilidades brindadas por cada uno de sus componentes, tales como Oracle Designer para el diseño del sistema, y Oracle Developer con Form Builder y Report Builder, para generar formas y reportes respectivamente, pertenecientes al Módulo de Control de Insumos. Finalmente, el Módulo de Control de Insumos logra cumplir con todos los requerimientos globales del Sistema, y está totalmente integrado a éste, con lo cual se alcanza a tener toda la información centralizada, facilitando la labor de toma de decisiones en la organización.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe information systems support and help the development of the basic activities in an organization, but as the processes evolve, as the competitiveness in the market increases and new technologies arise, the performance of these tools decrease because the lack of a suitable maintenance. That’s why, is necessary to realize processes of reengineering to the systems in order to get considerable improvements in critical aspects like costs, quality, service and speed in a general way to achieve a significant increase in the performance that they offer the organizations. Due the huge importance of this process in the development of quality software, the Grade Project is focus on the realization of a process of Reengineering to Module of Inputs Control for the Dana Transejes’s Production Plant Colombia, migrating this one from Power Builder to an Oracle platform, and which will guarantee the integration of this subsystem to the already existing ones, allowing this way, to manage in an effective way the handle of the inputs, although they aren’t own production elements, they are indispensable for its accomplishment. Besides, bearing in mind that Oracle was the tool client / servant chosen for the base management of Data Base, it took advantage to the maximum of the utilities offered to each of its components, such as Oracle Designer for the design of the system, and Oracle Developer with Form Builder and Report Builder, to generate forms and reports respectively, belonging to the Module of Inputs Control. Finally, the Module of Inputs Control manages to accomplish with all the global requirements of the System, and is totally integrated to this one, with which it achieve to have all the centralized information, facilitating this way, the labor of capture of decisions in the organization.
