dc.description.abstractLa investigación en salud es un tema de vital importancia para los gobiernos a nivel mundial debido a la necesidad de combatir las enfermedades que atacan a los seres humanos (Organización Mundial de la Salud, 2010). A pesar de los grandes avances tecnológicos, se ha evidenciado que el tiempo empleado entre el hallazgo y la aplicación de un descubrimiento científico es de 20 años aproximadamente. En este contexto surge la medicina traslacional, la cual busca incorporar los hallazgos de la ciencia básica en actividad clínica y la salud de la comunidad en un tiempo menor al promedio, y con mayor aprovechamiento de la inversión social y financiera que hace la comunidad para apoyar la investigación biomédica a través de estrategias, métodos y prácticas. De ahí surge esta pasantía de investigación que está enfocada en la identificación y el análisis de prácticas de referencia con el objetivo de proponer estrategias para el fortalecimiento de la investigación biomédica de la Facultad de Salud de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. Para desarrollar este proyecto, se hizo un análisis de literatura para encontrar prácticas de referencia realizadas en el mundo, se hizo una caracterización y priorización de las mismas y se hizo una investigación de los indicadores manejados por la Facultad de Salud. Esto con el fin de proponer estrategias que ayuden a implementar la medicina traslacional en la Facultad. Finalmente, se escribió un artículo publicable con los resultados de la investigación que será presentado a la Revista UIS Ingeniería, por su aporte desde el punto de vista de procesos.
dc.description.abstractenglishBiomedical research is of vital importance for worldwide governments due to the need to fight diseases that affect human beings (Organización Mundial de la Salud, 2010). Despite the great technological advances, it has been shown that the time lapse between the discovery and its application is approximately of 20 years. In this context, translational medicine has emerged, seeking to incorporate the findings of basic science in clinical practice and public health in order to short the time below than average, and with greater use of the social and financial lower investment that society makes to support the biomedical research through strategies, methods and practices. The aim of this research is the origin of this internship research that focuses on the identification and analysis of reference practices in order to with the aim of proposing propose strategies for the strengthening of biomedical research at the Health Faculty of the Industrial de Santander University. To develop this project, a literature analysis has been carried out to find worldwide reference practices, a characterization and prioritization of them and an investigation of the indicators managed by the Health Faculty. Finally, a publishable article with the results of the research has been written, this article will be presented to the UIS Ingenierías Magazine for it contribution from the process point of view.
