dc.description.abstractA partir de la segunda mitad del siglo XX se evidenció, en la ciencia económica, el interés en el acervo de conocimiento como un tipo de capital incorporado a las personas, el costo de las inversiones en conocimiento y las políticas educativas, entre otros, dando lugar a la Economía de la Educación. En el presente estudio se contrasta la hipótesis que sostiene que el gasto en educación es una elección de inversión en la cual el individuo se fija como objetivo incrementar su productividad y con ello sus ingresos futuros a expensas de ingresos en el presente, a la par que las universidades realizan la misma en función de mejorar la calidad académica y los indicadores de gestión. Para el caso específico de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, se intentará establecer si el nivel educativo y las comisiones de estudios avanzados otorgadas a los profesores de la Institución tienen incidencia en su productividad académica y debido a ello en sus salarios. Para esto se tomará como base teórica la corriente neoclásica o del juicio convencional, implementando el modelo de inversión en Capital Humano de Becker, el cálculo de la TIR y el VPR, pues es desde el enfoque productivista de esta corriente que se han realizado valiosos aportes al problema de los efectos de la inversión en capital humano.
dc.description.abstractenglishFrom second half of twentieth century was evident, in economic science, the interest in the heap of knowledge like a type of capital incorporated to the people, the cost of the investments in knowledge and the educative policies, among others, giving rise to the Economy of the Education. In this paper the hypothesis that maintains that is resisted the cost in education is an election of investment in which the individual fixes the goal of increasing its productivity therefore its future income at the expense of income in the present, at the same time as the universities realize the same based on improving the academic quality and the management indicators. For the specific case of the Industrial University of Santander, it will be tried to establish if the educative level and the commissions of advanced studies granted the professors of the Institution have incidence in their academic productivity and due to it in their wages. For this it will be taken as the neoclassic current or of the conventional judgment bases theoretic, implementing the model of investment in Human Capital of Becker, the calculation of the TIR and the VPR, because it is from the productivist approach of this current that have been realized valuable contributions to the problem of the effects of the investment in human capital.
