dc.description.abstractLa gestión de los inventarios es uno de los mayores retos que deben afrontar las empresas de hoy en día, por lo que implementar una estrategia de mejoramiento y control de ésta garantizaría que su estadía en el mercado sea más prolongada. Teniendo en cuenta que los mercados en general se han comportado de manera inestable en los últimos tiempos y el sector de los insumos agro-veterinarios no ha sido la excepción, es necesario orientar los recursos y esfuerzos de la empresa de una manera óptima para conseguir una mayor productividad que se vea reflejada en beneficios para esta. Para la gestión de los inventarios en Vetiagro Distribuciones S.A., fue necesario en primera instancia hacer un diagnóstico general de la empresa que permitiera identificar los puntos débiles para hacer énfasis sobre ellos. Parte de este diagnóstico se llevó a cabo mediante la implementación de algunos indicadores de gestión que permitieron hacer una medición real de la situación de la empresa antes y después de la implementación de la herramienta informática. Teniendo en cuenta que el área de inventarios se confirmó como una de las más traumáticas, fue necesario el diseño de un modelo óptimo de inventarios que respondiera a las preguntas, ¿Cuánto pedir? Y ¿Cuándo pedir?, lo que permitió posteriormente el desarrollo de un software que agilizara y optimizara la forma de pedir, dependiendo de variables tales como costos y tiempos de entrega de los proveedores, teniendo en cuenta además la demanda histórica de cada uno de los productos manejados por la empresa. Posteriormente fue necesaria la implementación de este en la empresa y capacitación del personal encargado del manejo de la herramienta informática. En la empresa se aclaró que la gestión de los inventarios en un proceso continuo por lo que se deben seguir realizando mejoras al sistema de manera que la empresa enfrente de mejor forma los retos del futuro, además se aclaró que la medición de los procesos de la empresa es parte de la clave del éxito.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe management of the inventories is one of the biggest challenges that the companies must confront. Implement a strategy of improvement and control of inventories would guarantee a longer life in the market. Considering that the markets in general have behaved lately in unstable way and the agriculture and veterinary sector won't be the exception, it is necessary to orient the resources and efforts of the company to an optimal way to obtain a greater productivity. It will be projected to the company. First of all, for the management of the inventories in Vetiagro Distribuciones S.A. was necessary a general diagnosis of the company, that allowed the identification of the weak points to make emphasis on them. Part of this diagnosis was carried out through some management indicators that allowed make a real measurement of the situation of the company before and after the implementation of the computer science tool. Considering that the area of inventories was confirmed like one of the most traumatic, the design of an optimal model of inventories was necessary to responded the follow questions. How much request? And, when to request? Which allowed after the development of the software make agile and optimised the procedure to request, depending of variables such as cost, delivery time of suppliers, also considering the historical demand of each one of the products handled the company. Later on was necessary the implementation of this software in the company and offer capacitating of the workers in how to work with the computer science tool In the company was clarified that the management of the inventories is a continuous process. Reason why the software has to improve to make the company competitive in front of the future challenges, beside it was clear that is part of success the measurement of the process
