dc.description.abstractEste trabajo centra su atención en la generación de residuos peligrosos en instituciones prestadoras de servicios de salud, cuya generación es producto de la atención a pacientes en primer, segundo, tercer o cuarto nivel (según grado de complejidad del servicio). El decreto 4741 contempla los lineamientos establecidos por la resolución 1164 y el decreto 1609 que habla sobre el manejo de residuos hospitalarios y similares (PGIRHS) y sobre el rotulado de sustancias químicas respectivamente. Se realizo el estudio de campo, por cada una de las áreas de una IPS nivel 3 de complejidad, caracterizando cada uno de los insumos de acuerdo a sus características fisicoquímicas y a su generación mensual o consumo de producto, posteriormente se identifico cada una de las siete características de peligrosidad que están establecidas en los anexos del decreto 4741, todo se realizo a través de un formato de caracterización de residuos peligrosos el cual establece las entradas y salidas y cuya metodología se encuentra sustentada en el documento. Los resultados arrojan un alto nivel de producción de residuos peligrosos de características biosanitarias, anatomopatologicos y cortopunzantes respectivamente, todos de características, infecciosas y toxicas, este ultimo por los residuos de medicamentos que quedan impregnados en los empaques. En último lugar se ubican los residuos químicos que provienen de las áreas de análisis de muestras (laboratorio)
dc.description.abstractenglishThis work focuses on the generation of hazardous waste in institutional health service providers, whose generation is the product of patient care in the first, second, third or fourth level (depending on degree of complexity of the service). Decree 4741 provides the guidelines established by resolution 1164 and Decree 1609 which talks about the handling of hospital waste and the like (PGIRHS) and labeling of chemicals, respectively. The scope of the 4741 decree extends the contingency plans in the management of hazardous waste based on the Decree 321, or 1999 "Contingency Plan for Oil Spills", establishing measures and contingency procedures in case of adverse events with hazardous waste. The survey field, for each area of a level 3 IPS complexity characterizing each of the inputs according to their physicochemical characteristics and their generation or consumption of product monthly, then identify each of the seven hazardous characteristics are set out in annexes to the 4741 decree, it's all done through a form of characterization of hazardous waste which provides the inputs and outputs, and whose methodology is based on the document. The results show a high level of hazardous waste biosanitary features, pathology and short stabbing respectively, all features, infectious and toxic, the latter by drug residues which are impregnated in packaging. Last fall the chemical waste from the areas of analysis of samples (laboratory)
