dc.description.abstractDebido a que la revolución de información está transformando la forma de gestionar y comunicar todas las instituciones y actores sociales del sistema económico, el desarrolló de Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación afecta todas las actividades relacionadas con la atención, administración y educación en el sector salud. Las oportunidades que ofrecen las TIC para mejorar la toma de decisiones y la gestión de la salud por parte de las entidades gubernamentales, instituciones prestadoras de los servicios y ciudadanía, se evidencian en los logros y experiencias en salud electrónica de países líderes en el tema como España, Brasil y Chile. Al ser la salud electrónica un tema relativamente nuevo en Colombia, el proyecto de investigación reposa en realizar un análisis de los avances que ha conseguido el sector salud en su incorporación de las tecnologías de información y comunicación y en determinar las posibilidades de mejora del sistema de salud por medio del aprovechamiento de las oportunidades que trae la salud electrónica. Los esfuerzos para lograr la comunicación entre las entidades prestadoras de los servicios de salud, para vincular la promoción y la prevención y para acceder a las regiones más apartadas por medio de la telesalud, logrará reducir la desigualdad y la pobreza que impiden el desarrolló económico de gran parte de la población, conducirá a la productividad y acumulación de conocimientos para la gestión de la salud en todos sus niveles y lograra incentivar el crecimiento en todos los sectores de la economía.
dc.description.abstractenglishDue to the revolution of information is transforming the way of manage and communicate all the institutions and social actors of the economic system, the development of the Information and Communication Technologies affects all the activities related with the attention, administration and education of the health care sector. The opportunities offered by the ICT for the improvement of making decisións and the management of health care by the governmental entities, the provider institutions of public services and citizenship, become evident in the achievements and the experiences in electronic health of leading countries in the topic such as Spain, Brazil and Chile. EHealth Being a relatively new topic in Colombia, the research project rests on conduct an analysis of the progress the health care sector has achieved in the incorporation of the information and communication technologies and determine the possibilities of upgrade the health system by taking advantage of the opportunities presented by electronic health care. The efforts to achieve communication among the entities provider of health care services, in oder to link the promotion and prevention to access to the most remote regións through the service of EHealth, will achieve to reduce the gap between inequity and poverty that impede the economic development of the main part of the population, will draw to the productivity and accumulation of the knowledge for the management of health care in all the levels and will stimulate the growing of all the fields of economy.
