dc.description.abstract	En el presente documento se exponen de manera general las actividades realizadas por el autor en la empresa Geotecnología S.A.S. durante la práctica empresarial como auxiliar de ingeniería en la ejecución de estudios geotécnicos en el área metropolitana de Bucaramanga y el departamento de Santander. Se indican los estudios geotécnicos y las etapas de cada uno en las cuales se participó, así como la explicación detallada para los trabajos más representativos que se llevaron a cabo en el periodo de la práctica. En los proyectos se explican aspectos como: interpretación de los ensayos en campo; seguimiento de resultados en el laboratorio geotécnico; correlación de sondeos representativos; modelación en los softwares LOADCAP y Plaxis 3D Foundation (software de elementos finitos) para determinar capacidad de carga de los suelos y asentamientos respectivamente; análisis de estabilidad de taludes por medio del software de equilibrio límite (Slope/w), entre otros procesos que permiten mejorar la caracterización del suelo donde se plantea la construcción de la obra civil y dar las recomendaciones de ingeniería necesarias para el diseño de la cimentación y las actividades de excavación y construcción. Como resultado general de la práctica empresarial, el auxiliar de ingeniería comprendió, de primera mano, el proceso de la planificación de un estudio geotécnico y su importancia. Como también, la evidente necesidad de tener clara y realizadas cada una de las etapas de un estudio para poder concluir y dar recomendaciones geotécnicas. Adicionalmente, la práctica empresarial fortaleció y dio bases para que el auxiliar de ingeniería creara un criterio técnico y pudiera dar puntos de vista sobre los resultados y recomendaciones en los lotes estudiados en el periodo de práctica.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This document presents in a general way the activities that were performed by the author in the company Geotecnología S. A. S. during his internship as an engineering assistant in the execution of geotechnical studies in the metropolitan area of Bucaramanga and the department of Santander. The geotechnical studies and the stages of each one in which the author participated are described, as well as the detailed explanation for the most representative works that were executed during the internship period. The projects explain aspects such as: interpretation of field tests; follow-up of results in the geotechnical laboratory; correlation of representative borings; modeling in LOADCAP and Plaxis 3D Foundation software (finite element software) to determine soil bearing capacity and settlements respectively; slope stability analysis using limit equilibrium software (Slope/w), among other processes that allows improving the soil characterization where the construction of the civil work is proposed and giving the necessary engineering recommendations for the foundation designs, excavation and construction activities. As a general result of the internship, the engineering assistant understood, first-hand, the process of planning a geotechnical study and its importance. As well as, the evident need to understand and execute each of the stages of a study to be able to conclude and provide geotechnical recommendations. Additionally, the internship strengthened and provided the basis for the engineering assistant to create a technical criterion and to be able to present with points of view over the results and recommendations in the studied soils during the internship period.
