dc.description.abstractEl ICFES, el ente encargado de evaluar a los estudiantes de la básica secundaria en Colombia en las diferentes áreas del conocimiento, presentó que los estudiantes de noveno grado se encontraban entre un nivel mínimo y satisfactorio en la competencia comunicativa-escritora y en el componente sintáctico de Lengua Castellana. Así pues, surgió la necesidad de fortalecer la competencia textual, debido a que es la capacidad que les permitirá vincular e interpretar signos organizados en un texto coherente. Para mejorar su nivel se privilegió el periódico escolar como la herramienta pedagógica para lograr mejores niveles de escritura, ya que ayuda a que potencien todas sus capacidades escriturales; además porque el periódico escolar era, para entonces, el único medio de comunicación que no se había estado trabajando dentro de la institución. Esta investigación acción de corte cualitativo se desarrolló en tres fases: en primer lugar, se identificaron los niveles de lectura y escritura de los estudiantes para la selección de los elementos didácticos que sirvieron de diseño en la secuencia didáctica. Luego, se desarrolló la propuesta del periódico escolar como recurso didáctico para mejorar la competencia textual. Y finalmente, se evaluó y se reflexionó sobre los alcances, aportes y/o dificultades del proceso de implementación. La información se recolectó y para su posterior análisis se hizo a través de la prueba diagnóstica, cuestionarios y rejillas de evaluación, diario del profesor y videos. Dentro de los resultados se halló que los estudiantes les agrada escribir si se sienten motivados; que deben conocer la estructura global de un texto para que su organización tenga una secuencia lógica; y que el conocimiento de los mecanismos de uso y control para regular el desarrollo del tema, y el empleo de conectores son imperiosos para mantener la coherencia y cohesión del texto.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe ICFES, the entity in charge of evaluating the students of the basic secondary in Colombia in the different areas of knowledge, presented that the students of this research were between a minimum and satisfactory level in the communication-writing competence and in the syntactic component of Spanish Language. Thus, the need of strengthen textual competence arose because it is the ability that will allow them to link and interpret organized signs in a coherent text. To respond to this concern, the school newspaper was privileged as the pedagogical tool to achieve better levels of writing, since it helps them to enhance all their writing abilities; also, because the school newspaper was, by then, the only means of communication that had not been working. This qualitative research action was developed in three phases: first, students' reading and writing levels were identified for the selection of the didactic elements that served as design for the didactic sequence. Then, the proposal of the school newspaper was developed as a didactic resource to improve the textual competence. And finally, it was evaluated and reflected on the scope, contributions and / or difficulties of the implementation process. The information was collected for further analysis through the diagnostic text, evaluation grids, teacher's diary and videos. Within the results, it was found that students like to write if they feel motivated; that they must know the global structure of a text so that its organization has a logical sequence; and that the knowledge of the mechanisms of use and control to regulate the development of the topic, and the use of connectors are imperative to maintain the coherence and cohesion of the text. *
