dc.description.abstractEsta investigación se centró en La procesión de los ardientes (1973), antología que comprende diez cuentos del escritor bumangués Pedro Gómez Valderrama. Este trabajo busca determinar de qué manera el autor se distancia de la forma y naturaleza tradicional del cuento al hacer uso del discurso historiográfico en su obra. Para este fin, la investigación se basó en un análisis cualitativo e interdisciplinar, en el cual se buscó determinar, en primer lugar, cuáles características propias del discurso historiográfico se manifiestan en la obra y qué función tenían en cada cuento. Así pues, se analizaron características como el establecimiento de referentes históricos y el estilo narrativo en los cuentos. En segundo lugar, se analizó la manera en que la obra presenta y mantiene una pretensión de objetivación del discurso. Finalmente, dado que algunos cuentos cumplen con ciertas características como la crítica a procesos de validación histórica y ejercicios imaginativos y especulativos, se les intentó clasificar dentro de un género insospechado: la fictohistoria. Se concluyó que, por la irrupción de características propias de la historiografía, y de la versatilidad e hibridación que estas permiten, Gómez Valderrama se desliga de lo tradicional y típico, y escribe diez cuentos completamente innovadores para la época.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis research is focused on La procesión de los ardientes (1973), an anthology composed of ten short stories by the writer Pedro Gómez Valderrama. This work seeks to determine how the author departs from the traditional form and nature of the short story by using the historiographic discourse in his work. To this end, the research was based on a qualitative and interdisciplinary analysis in which it was sought to determine, firstly, which characteristics of the historiographic discourse are manifested in the work and what function they had in each story. Thus, characteristics such as the establishment of historical references and the narrative style in the stories were analyzed. Secondly, the way in which the work maintains a claim to objectify the discourse was analyzed. Finally, given that some stories meet certain characteristics, such as criticism of historical validation processes and imaginative and speculative exercises, an attempt was made to classify them within an unsuspected genre: fictional history. It was concluded that, due to the emergence of characteristics specific to historiography, and the versatility and hybridization, that these allow Gómez Valderrama to break away from the tradition, and to write ten short stories that were completely innovative for the time.
