dc.description.abstractEn el presente trabajo se intenta reconstruir la idea de América Latina al tomar como referencia raíces que se extienden hasta el comienzo de la occidentalidad e intentar rastrearlas hasta el pasado reciente. Podemos desenterrar estas raíces utilizando el método genealógico para subrayar la manera como la producción del discurso sobre lo latinoamericano depende y recoge temáticas desarrolladas a lo largo de la historia occidental en una serie de proyectos políticos que se expresaban discursivamente en relatos teológicos y teleológicos. En primer lugar, se muestra la manera como los profetas hebreos comenzaron a crear una visión lineal de la historia que resolvía los problemas políticos del presente en un futuro predeterminado. En segundo lugar, se mirará la manera como los temas y motivos creados por estos profetas van a aparecer en las concepciones políticas de los hispanos dentro de la concepción medieval de translatio imperii, translatio studii. En tercer lugar, se mirará la manera como la producción de discursos sobre América Latina recoge y desarrolla algunos de esos motivos para dar cuenta de la civilización latinoamericana en los términos de una sucesión global de pueblos que se remonta a la antigüedad clásica. Finalmente se ofrecerán algunas conclusiones y reflexiones sobre la problemática desarrollada.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe present work attempts to reconstruct the idea of Latin America by taking as reference roots that extend back to the beginning of western civilization and attempting to trace them to the recent past. We can uncover these roots using the genealogical method to underline the way in which the production of discourse on what is Latin American depends on and takes up narratives developed all throughout western history in a series of political projects that presented themselves discursively in theological and teleological narratives. First we look at the way in which the Hebrew prophets began to create a lineal view of history that proposed a predetermined future resolution of the political problems of the present. Secondly we will look at the way in which the themes and motifs created by these prophets will be retaken in Hispanic political concepts in the medieval worldview of translatio imperii, translatio studii. Thirdly, we will look at the way in which those motifs are taken up and developed for the production of discourses on Latin America that present it a term of a global succession of societies which traces its roots back to classical antiquity, Finally we will offer some conclusions and reflections of the developed problematic.
