dc.description.abstractLos debates feministas contemporáneos acerca del significado del género han centrado su atención en la necesidad de fundamentar una política y una ética feministas. Desde nuestra perspectiva, la cuestión central de este movimiento no debería basarse en proporcionar fundamentos ontológicos que respalden todas las reivindicaciones políticas. En muchos casos, la categoría de mujer se redefine e interpreta de diversas maneras, y esta multiplicidad de identidades debe tenerse en cuenta si queremos pensar los valores políticos de la democracia. Así, esta investigación pretende demostrar un posible punto de convergencia argumentativa entre la visión existencialista de Beauvoir y las discusiones contemporáneas sobre la política feminista y la democracia radical. Por ello, sugerimos que prestar atención a este diálogo crítico ofrece varias ventajas en el intento de cumplir algunos de los compromisos democráticos de nuestras sociedades actuales. A través de su obra, podemos explorar las consecuencias y los retos que debemos afrontar como teóricas preocupadas por la subordinación histórica de las mujeres, con el fin de proponer alternativas políticas innovadoras que aborden esta realidad.
dc.description.abstractenglishContemporary feminist debates regarding the meaning of gender have focused their attention on the need to ground a feminist politics and ethics. From our perspective, the central issue of this movement should not be based on providing ontological foundations to support all political claims. In many cases, the category of woman is redefined and interpreted in diverse ways, and this multiplicity of identities must be taken into account if we are to think about the political values of democracy. Thus, this research aims to demonstrate a possible argumentative point of convergence between Beauvoir's existentialist view and contemporary discussions on feminist politics and radical democracy. We suggest that paying attention to this critical dialogue offers various advantages in the attempt to fulfill some of the democratic commitments of our current societies. Through her work, we can explore the consequences and challenges we must face as theorists concerned with the historical subordination of women, in order to propose innovative political alternatives that address this reality.
