dc.description.abstractJean-Jacques Rousseau es conocido entre los pensadores por su aporte a la filosofía política y a la filosofía moral. La cuestión de este trabajo estriba en un concepto esencial para la comprensión de la teoría rousseauniana, pero que no tiene explicación alguna en la obra del filósofo; a saber, el concepto de naturaleza. Indudablemente, todo el pensamiento del autor descansa en este concepto, de manera que el asunto no es para nada fútil. La naturaleza, señala el filósofo, hizo buenos a los hombres, pero la civilización les ha corrompido. Por lo tanto, para restaurar los daños que conlleva el alejarse de esta bondadosa madre, es preciso reconciliar al ciudadano con el hombre; regresar a nuestro estado genuino es imposible, pero lo que sí es posible es que el sujeto civil, hecho hombre, regrese a la naturaleza desde su nueva condición. La pregunta es, entonces, ¿qué es la naturaleza para Rousseau? ¿Qué es aquello a lo que debemos volver? Aquí se encontrará una posible lectura de tal concepto, la cual se hace a partir de dos obras claves del pensador; a saber: el Discurso sobre las Ciencias y las Artes y el Discurso sobre el Origen y los Fundamentos de la Desigualdad entre los Hombres.
dc.description.abstractenglishJean-Jacques Rousseau, one of the most important French thinkers, has been known in the academy world for his contribution to political philosophy and morality. The issue in this work is based on an essential concept for the understanding of these rousseauian theories, which is key but the philosopher never explains in his Works; at this point, we are referring to the concept of Nature. Undoubtedly, Rousseau’s thought rested on this idea, therefore the problem isn’t futile at all. Nature, marks the genevan writer, has made goodness men but the civilization has corrupted them. In consequence of that, is necessary to reconcile the man of nature with the citizen. Indeed, it’s impossible to return to the state of nature, but the social subject can move forward to the ideal State, returning to nature now being a good citizen. Then, the question is: what is Nature for Rousseau? What is that we have to return to? Here we can find a possible reading about this concept, that have been done from two elemental Rousseau’s writings; namely, Discourse on the Arts and Sciences and Discourse on the Origin and Basis of Inequality Among Men.
