dc.description.abstractLa Escuela de Física de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, a partir de la necesidad de analizar el impacto de sus graduados en la sociedad, realiza un estudio de seguimiento que contempla la perspectiva de los graduados y de sus empleadores, con el fin de obtener información que permita evaluar la calidad y pertinencia de la educación recibida durante su paso por el programa académico. Inicialmente se hace una revisión de estudios de seguimiento hechos a nivel nacional e internacional, posteriormente se realiza un marco teórico que comprende el análisis de los datos, donde se determina que el estudio se adapta al proceso de extracción de conocimiento a partir de datos (KDD). Se construye un instrumento de medición y se aplica a los graduados en el periodo 2016-2020 y a sus empleadores; este instrumento se basa en las recomendaciones del Observatorio Laboral para la Educación (OLE), y es enviado vía internet a través de la plataforma LimeSurvey. La encuesta dirigida a los graduados permite conocer datos socioeconómicos y demográficos, situación laboral, satisfacción con la Institución de Educación Superior, trayectoria académica y profesional. Finalmente, la información recolectada se analiza haciendo uso de métodos de minería de datos y análisis multivariado, lo que permite identificar aspectos relevantes que sirven de apoyo para la toma de decisiones estratégicas por parte de la escuela.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe School of Physics of the Universidad Industrial de Santander, from the need to analyze the impact of its graduates in society, conducts a follow-up study that considers the perspective of graduates and their employers, to obtain information to assess the quality and relevance of the education received during their passage through the academic program. Initially, a review of follow-up studies conducted at the national and international level is made, followed by a theoretical framework that includes the analysis of the data, where it is determined that the study is adapted to the process of knowledge extraction from data (KDD). A measurement instrument is constructed and applied to graduates in the 2016-2020 period and their employers; this instrument is based on the recommendations of the Labor Observatory for Education (OLE) and is sent via the internet through the LimeSurvey platform. The survey addressed to graduates provides socioeconomic and demographic data, employment status, satisfaction with the Higher Education Institution, academic and professional trajectory. Finally, the information collected is analyzed using data mining methods and multivariate analysis, which allows the identification of relevant aspects that support the school's strategic decision-making.
