dc.description.abstractEste artículo analiza la participación femenina en la revista Tierra Nativa de Bucaramanga durante la primera mitad del siglo XX, en un contexto donde la presencia de mujeres en medios de comunicación, como la prensa y las revistas, era más evidente en grandes urbes como Bogotá y Medellín. La investigación parte del cuestionamiento: ¿de qué manera la revista Tierra Nativa funcionó como un espacio de participación y expresión femenina en Bucaramanga, y cómo contribuyó a la construcción de una historia de género en la región? Asimismo, se plantea que Tierra Nativa operó como un espacio de visibilización de las voces de mujeres vinculadas a los ámbitos educativo, cultural, social y político, tradicionalmente excluidas de los relatos históricos. Los objetivos de la investigación son: (1) analizar la participación femenina en la mencionada revista; (2) identificar los diferentes roles asumidos por las mujeres en sus publicaciones; y (3) reconocer a las autoras que contribuyeron, mediante su escritura, a la construcción de una historia de género local. Aunque en este periodo las mujeres vivían bajo las limitaciones impuestas por una sociedad patriarcal, también luchaban por hacerse oír. A pesar de la predominancia masculina en Tierra Nativa, algunas mujeres lograron posicionar sus voces en cada verso, letra y página. El artículo destaca cómo sus publicaciones sirvieron como puente para cuestionar su rol en la sociedad y expresar sus aptitudes intelectuales y artísticas. La investigación ofrece una reflexión sobre el olvido de la participación femenina en Bucaramanga a través de la revista Tierra Nativa, evidenciando las implicaciones tanto políticas como literarias de su contribución escrita.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis article analyzes female participation in the magazine Tierra Nativa of Bucaramanga during the first half of the twentieth century, within a context in which women's presence in the media—such as newspapers and magazines—was more prominent in major urban centers like Bogotá and Medellín. The research is guided by the question: in what ways did Tierra Nativa serve as a space for women's participation and expression in Bucaramanga, and how did it contribute to the construction of a regional gender history? It argues that Tierra Nativa operated as a platform that made visible the voices of women engaged in educational, cultural, social, and political spheres—voices that have traditionally been excluded from historical narratives. The objectives of the study are: (1) to analyze women's participation in the aforementioned magazine; (2) to identify the various roles assumed by women in its pages; and (3) to recognize the female authors who contributed, through their writing, to the development of a local gender history. Although women during this period lived under the constraints of a patriarchal society, they were also engaged in the struggle to make their voices heard. Despite the male dominance in Tierra Nativa, some women succeeded in asserting their presence through every verse, word, and page. This article highlights how their publications became a bridge for questioning their societal roles and expressing intellectual and artistic capabilities. The study offers a reflection on the historical neglect of women's participation in Bucaramanga through Tierra Nativa, revealing the political and literary implications of their written contributions.
