dc.description.abstractEl presente documento analiza la relación de la pobreza con el embarazo en adolescentes para mujeres y hombres entre los 10 y 19 años en Colombia y sus regiones. Para ello se utilizan diferentes fuentes de información como la Encuesta Nacional de Demografía y Salud (ENDS) y datos brindados por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (DANE) respecto a pobreza monetaria, multidimensional y nacimientos. El análisis del estudio se hace mediante una revisión bibliográfica junto con estadísticas descriptivas en el periodo de 2010 a 2016, debido a las diferentes encuestas y políticas aplicadas en este periodo, además se hace la estimación de un modelo Logit en el 2015 que analiza los factores influyentes en la edad en la que se es madre o padre por primera vez. Los datos estudiados sugieren que, factores como la zona de residencia, el sexo, la influencia de pares, el nivel de educación, el uso de métodos anticonceptivos y una relación sentimental estable, entre otros, influyen sobre el embarazo adolescente; además, algunos de estos factores pueden estar relacionados con condiciones de pobreza que agudizan estos elementos y por ende la problemática. Así mismo el análisis encuentra que, aunque las cifras de embarazo en adolescentes y pobreza han disminuido estas siguen siendo significativas, especialmente en la región Caribe. Acorde con esto se realiza una revisión de las políticas y estrategias aplicadas para mitigar estos fenómenos, encontrando que estas tienen enfoques intersectoriales dirigidos a la educación sexual, capacitación de capital humano, transferencias y mejoras en el acceso a los sistemas de educación y salud, sin embargo, no logran solucionar problemas estructurales como la falta de inversión, empleo y eficacia de los servicios que influyen en la calidad de vida y libertades de la población.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis document analyzes the relationship between poverty and pregnancy in teenagers for women and men between the ages of 10 and 19 in Colombia and its regions. This document requires different sources of information such as the Encuesta Nacional de Demografía y Salud-ENDS and data provided by the Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística-DANE regarding monetary, multidimensional poverty and births. The analysis of the study is done through a bibliographic review together with descriptive statistics in the period from 2010 to 2016, due to the different surveys and policies applied in this period, in addition to the modification of a Logit model in 2015 that analyzes the factors influential in the age of being a mother or father for the first time. The specific data studied that, factors such as the area of residence, sex, peer influence, education level, the use of contraceptive methods and a stable relationship, among others, influence teenage pregnancy; In addition, some of these factors may be related to the conditions of poverty that sharpen these elements and therefore the problem. Likewise, the analysis finds that, although the numbers of teenage pregnancy and poverty have decreased, they remain specifically, especially in the Caribbean region. According to this, a review of the policies and strategies applied to mitigate these phenomena is carried out, finding that they have intersectoral approaches aimed at sex education, human capital training, transfers and improvements in access to education and health systems, however, doesn't solve structural problems such as lack of investment, employment and efficiency of services that influence the quality of life and freedoms of the population.
