dc.description.abstractEn la presente investigación se estudia la Teoría de Recursos y Capacidades (TRC) y su relación con el desempeño financiero del sector textil colombiano, con el fin de identificar aquellos recursos y capacidades claves para la obtención de mejores resultados financieros empresariales. Para este propósito, se usa el análisis de componentes principales y la regresión lineal múltiple, los cuales permiten reducir la dimensionalidad de los datos y facilitan establecer las relaciones entre las variables de estudio, respectivamente. Para la ejecución de este trabajo de investigación se emplea el lenguaje de programación Python, el cual cuenta con diferentes librerías que proporcionan clases y funciones para la exploración de datos, la realización de pruebas estadísticas y la estimación de modelos regresivos. De esta forma se obtiene un modelo regresivo que identifica los recursos tangibles físicos como los de mayor influencia sobre el desempeño financiero de las empresas del sector textil colombiano, seguidos de los recursos humanos y de las capacidades dinámicas de absorción. Con base en estos resultados, el tejido industrial textil colombiano está llamado al desarrollo de estrategias enfocadas en: la compra de materia prima, la contratación de personal para el área producción y los acuerdos con terceros para la manufactura de los productos o para la prestación de otros servicios importantes para la empresa.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis research deals with resource based view of the firm theory (RBV) in order to identify key resources and capabilities of Colombian textile and clothing firms in relation to the firm´s performance. The study applied multivariate statistical methods such as the analysis of principal components and multiple linear regression, which allow reducing the dimensionality of the data and establishing the relationships between the study variables. For the execution of this research, the Python programming language is used, which has different libraries and function for data exploration, conducting statistical test and the estimation of regressive models. In this way, a regressive model is obtained, it describes the relationship between resources, capabilities and financial results of the Colombian textile and clothing firms. In this model, tangible physical resources are the ones with the greatest influence on firm´s financial performance, followed by human resources and dynamic absorptive capabilities. Based on these results, the companies of the textile sector in the current Colombian market should pay special attention to strategies focused on purchase of raw materials, hiring human talent for the production area and agreements with other companies for the manufacture of the products or the provision of other important services for the firm.
