dc.description.abstractColombia no cuenta con una política de movilidad donde se integre al peatón completamente dentro del sistema de transporte, ya que las vías están diseñadas tanto en la infraestructura como en la operación para que su ocupación este dada en su mayoría por los vehículos automotores, dejando al peatón en inferioridad de condiciones respecto a los demás modos de transporte. Por tal razón los corredores peatonales empiezan a ser una herramienta para construir una movilidad sostenible, para la recuperación del espacio público y para generar espacios seguros, que garantizan los desplazamientos de todos los usuarios en las vías. Conscientes de las deficiencias existentes en relación a dichos espacios, la presente investigación pretende abordar el análisis de la posible implementación de un corredor peatonal en la calle 9 entre carreras 27 y 18 en la ciudad de Bucaramanga y el impacto de dicha adecuación en su zona de influencia directa. Es importante resaltar la importancia del sector a intervenir, como un espacio que alberga grandes flujos peatonales, una actividad comercial prevaleciente y la existencia de numerosas entidades de educación primaria, secundaria y de educación superior como son la Universidad Industrial de Santander, la Universidad de Investigación y Desarrollo y la Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino.
dc.description.abstractenglishColombia does not have a mobility policy where pedestrians are fully integrated into the transportation system, since the roads are designed both in the infrastructure and in the operation so that their occupation is mostly given by motor vehicles, leaving the pedestrian in inferiority of conditions with respect to other modes of transport. For this reason, pedestrian corridors begin to be a tool for building sustainable mobility, for the recovery of public space and for generating safe spaces, which guarantee the movement of all users on the roads. Aware of the deficiencies in relation to these spaces, the present investigation intends to address the analysis of the possible implementation of a pedestrian corridor on 9th street between careers 27 and 18 in the city of Bucaramanga and the impact of such adaptation in its area of direct influence. It is important to highlight the importance of the sector to intervene, as a space that houses large pedestrian flows, a prevailing commercial activity and the existence of numerous entities of primary, secondary and higher education such as the Industrial University of Santander, the University of Research and Development and the Santo Tomás de Aquino University.
