dc.description.abstract | La restricción del crecimiento intrauterino severa es una entidad de origen multifactorial causada por gran variedad de patologías a nivel materno, fetal o placentario, que representa altas tasas de morbimortalidad materna y perinatal. Objetivo: Describir las características de las gestantes y recién nacidos con diagnóstico de RCIU severa y de los recién nacidos atendidos en la Unidad de Medicina Materno Fetal y Sala de Partos del HUS. Resultados: Se analizaron 300 pacientes, con edad entre 14 y 48 años. Los antecedentes patológicos más frecuentes fueron asma (6.7%) y Preeclampsia (6.3%); el antecedente farmacológico más frecuente fue el uso de corticoides (3.3%). En 77% se realizó diagnóstico después de la semana 32. Las complicaciones más frecuentes en los embarazos fueron preeclampsia severa (21.7%) y diabetes gestacional (4.0%) El Doppler fue categoría I en el 97.7% de los casos, la diferencia en la proporción de pacientes con Doppler categoría I en cada grupo de edad gestacional al es significativa (p=0.042), se encontró mayor proporción de IP de arterias uterinas alterado en los grupos de menor edad gestacional.
