dc.description.abstractEste trabajo busca analizar las transformaciones históricas de los municipios de Vetas y California durante el siglo XX. Así, su objetivo es entender los usos que en este período se les han dado a estos territorios mineros, descifrando sus correlaciones con las dimensiones sociales, empresariales y ambientales de la región. De tal forma, en esta investigación nos preguntamos por las transformaciones causadas por los actores (empresas, empresarios, Estado y mineros) y las prácticas (técnicas, métodos, e impacto ambiental) que históricamente se han ejercido en torno a la minería en estos municipios. Para acercarnos a dichas cuestiones el desarrollo de esta investigación se apoyó en fuentes de archivo, informes técnicos, empresariales, municipales y fuentes secundarias, y luego se procedió a analizar el material para reconstruir los procesos históricos que se dieron a través de la minería. Su originalidad recae en que aporta insumos históricos para realizar análisis de mayor profundidad en torno a problemáticas actuales de la zona, como lo es la delimitación del páramo de Santurbán y especialmente los proyectos de megaminería en la zona.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis project aims to analyze the historical transformations of the municipalities of Vetas and California in the 20th century. Thus, its objective is to deepen and understand the uses that have historically been given to these mining territories, deciphering their correlations with the social, business and environmental dimensions of the region. In this way, this research asks about the transformations caused by the actors (companies, businessmen, State and miners) and the uses (techniques, methods, and environmental impact) that historically have occurred in these municipalities. To approach these issues, the development of this research uses archival sources, technical, business, municipal reports and secondary sources, and then proceeded to analyze the material to reconstruct the historical processes that were guided through mining. Therefore, its originality relapse in the fact that it provides historical inputs that offer greater depth to the analysis of current problems such as the delimitation of the Santurbán paramo and especially the incursion
