dc.description.abstractEstudio Descriptivo Retrospectivo de 12 pacientes con diagnóstico de Escoliosis Idiopática intervenidos con sistema USS. El Hospital Universitario de Santander por ser el centro de referencia como Institución Prestadora de Salud más importante a nivel regional en el oriente Colombiano, es el sitio propicio para el desarrollo de ésta investigación, ya que cuenta con el mayor número de pacientes a evaluar que otro centro institucional regional, posee los mejores recursos en términos de personal idóneo y capacitado en ésta área de la ortopedia, y tiene la infraestructura tanto física como tecnológica para dar una herramientas óptimas para el cumplimiento de ésta propuesta investigativa. No existe un protocolo del manejo de éstos pacientes en el Hospital Universitario de Santander, ésta investigación buscó captar y mejorar el seguimiento de los pacientes, llevar un mejor registro de cirugía y control, y optimizar el recurso humano y económico, pero debido al bajo número de casos del estudio no tiene un soporte lo suficientemente amplio como para que este protocolo sea aplicado de una forma adecuada Las escoliosis idiopáticas intervenidas quirúrgicamente mostraron correcciones de sus curvas previas con satisfacción de los mismos pacientes a pesar que todos tenían curvas severas. Los datos de éste trabajo coinciden con los datos mostrados en la literatura nacional e internacional fiFalta implementar la cultura de la remisión a nivel regional al HUS como centro de referencia de tratamiento de deformidades espinales, ya que llegan casos muy severos y por problemas administrativos se difieren mucho tiempo aumentando la morbilidad y costos en el tratamiento de los pacientes Este trabajo de investigación busca tener una prospectividad , por lo cual la continuidad del mismo, en cuanto a la recolección de datos de éste tipo de cirugías que lleven a cabo en el Hospital Universitario de Santander será llevada a cabo por el grupo de médicos residentes del Servicio de Ortopedia y Traumatología a futuro.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis investigation intends to describe the surgical experience carried out to patients with idiopathic scoliosis conditions applied to transpedicular fixation systems at SUH concerning the behavioural complications presented at this mentioned pathology management. Throughout complete revised study cases developed at this medical institution, management idiopathic scoliosis cases were not found leading to specific results to this study related to adverse conditions at intra and post surgical results, carried out during a minimum two years duration. Management protocols are still not known applied in this type of patients Evaluating the former results concerning post surgical control and appeared complications, an institutional protocol will be hold intending the improvement of results during a period of time in wich the patient require this kind of procedures including this type of devices HUS is a reference center on health services the most important health and medical service center in the north east region in Colombia. It is the ideal place for the development of this investigation. The medical center provides a great number of patients avalible to other regional institutions. It provides quality resurces and well trained professional staff in orthopaedics. IT also offers the technological an phisycal framework with optimus tools to the success of any investigation proposal. A management control protocol for the patients at HUS in unknown. the investigation intended to improve the control to patients as well as the better of surgery and control registration and to optimize the financial and human resource; but due to the small number of study cases a full support was insufficient for the application of a correct management of this protocol.The HUS must be considered a reference institution for patients suffering spinal deformity in the north east region of Colombia. The applied surgical to idiopathic scoliosis succeded in the correction of the previous curves including he patients satisfaction in despite of their severe spinal curves This research data is similar to national and international data reports. “ The HUS needs the implementation of a system helping the moving of patients from places among different institutions in the region, and at the same time it must become the Center of spinal deformity in the region. This implementation must be taken into account due to staff management problems with severe cases wich take a lots of time increasing morbility and patients management cost. This work of investigation seeks for a steady prospectivity and continuity. Data research and collect on this type of surgery developed at the SUH will be carried out by a group of orthopaedic
