dc.description.abstractEsta investigación es un acercamiento al fútbol como oferta laboral para los jugadores locales durante los primeros ocho años de la profesionalización de esta disciplina en la ciudad de Bucaramanga. En ella se describe como el fútbol fue convirtiéndose en una de las principales actividades de esparcimiento, partiendo desde los primeros registros que se tienen de su práctica en la ciudad a principios del siglo XX, pasando por la planificación y desarrollo de los Juegos Atléticos Nacionales de 1941, la fundación del Atlético Bucaramanga en 1949 y hasta 1956 cuando regresa a la ciudad este espectáculo tras dos años de ausencia. Sin embargo, esta popularidad no significó que esta actividad se constituyera en una verdadera fuente de empleo para los jugadores locales. Dado que el fútbol rentado en la ciudad durante las décadas de 1940 y 1950 en Bucaramanga fue una oportunidad en su mayoría para extranjeros. Para los pocos jugadores criollos que lograron ser parte de esta nueva forma de empleo se mantuvieron las mismas características que en las categorías aficionadas. En síntesis, el objetivo de esta investigación dividida en tres capítulos no solo es mostrar cómo el futbolista santandereano fue marginado de la oferta laboral que significó el balompié rentado en su llegada a Bucaramanga. También se aborda el fútbol como punto focal para comprender aspectos, económicos, sociales y culturales de la comunidad bumanguesa a mediados del siglo XX.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis research is an approach to soccer as a job offer for local players during the first eight years of the professionalization of this discipline in the city of Bucaramanga. It describes how soccer became one of the main leisure activities, starting from the first records of its practice in the city at the beginning of the 20th century, passing through the planning and development of the National Athletic Games of 1941, the founding of Atlético Bucaramanga in 1949 and until 1956 when this show returned to the city after two years of absence. However, this popularity did not mean that this activity was a real source of employment for local players. Given that rented football in the city during the 1940s and 1950s in Bucaramanga was an opportunity mostly for foreigners. For the few creole players who managed to be part of this new form of employment, the same characteristics were maintained as in the amateur categories. In summary, the objective of this investigation is divided into three chapters, not only to show how the Santander footballer was marginalized from the job offer that rented football meant when it arrived in Bucaramanga. Soccer is also approached as a focal point to understand economic, social and cultural aspects of the Bumanguesa community in the mid-20th century.
