dc.description.abstractEn este trabajo de grado se intenta mostrar, desde la filosofía de Platón, la utilidad de la mímesis; en tanto que, a través de esta y utilizando como medio la formación educativa, se puede lograr formar el carácter y las conductas de las personas, principalmente en los niños. Platón comprendió esta importancia de la mímesis al advertir el riesgo que implicaba dejar la formación del carácter en manos de los poetas, debido a que, ellos presentaban aspectos viles e inapropiados en sus narraciones que los niños podrían llegar a imitar, emular y aprender; motivo por el cual se propuso supervisar y censurar aquellas formas poéticas que no aportaran a formar hombres virtuosos. Para lograr lo planteado, el trabajo se estructura en tres acápites: en un primer momento, se precisa que el término mímesis es un concepto que se adapta a distintos contextos, lo cual permite que se aplique de modos diversos, por ejemplo, al carácter y al aprendizaje; en segundo lugar, se presenta el papel de los poetas en la antigüedad y el proyecto educativo platónico, resaltando el papel de la poesía en los estudios elementales; y, por último, se muestra la utilidad y los riesgos de la mímesis en la formación del carácter de los niños. *
dc.description.abstractenglishIn this degree work I try to show from Plato's philosophy the usefulness of the concept of mimesis, while, through it and using educational training as a means, it is possible to form the character and behavior of people, mainly in the kids. Plato was aware of the importance of mimesis by noticing the risk that involved leaving the formation of character in the hands of poets, mainly because they presented vile and inappropriate aspects in their narratives that children could imitate, emulate and learn. Plato was proposed to supervise and to censor those poetic forms that would not contribute to the formation of virtuous men. To achieve this, the work is structured in three sections. First, it is necessary to clarify that the mimesis is a concept adaptable to different contexts, which allows it to be applied in different ways, for example, to the character of the people and to learning as well; secondly, it is presented the role of poets in antiquity and the platonic educational project as such, highlighting the role of poetry in elementary studies; and finally, it shows the usefulness and risks of mimesis in the formation of children's character.
