dc.description.abstractLa participación de la mujer dentro de la sociedad ha estado limitada en múltiples aspectos debido a las creencias arcaicas de la mujer como encargada de las labores del hogar, sin embargo, año tras año su representación va cobrando importancia a nivel global. El análisis de la participación de la mujer permite determinar las desigualdades a las que debe hacer frente el género femenino y, así mismo, percatarse sobre las políticas o soluciones para que ella pueda incursionar en mejores proporciones dentro de la sociedad; no obstante, este tipo de estudios dentro de la institución son escasos. La presente investigación analiza la participación de la mujer, a través del tiempo, en los diferentes espacios dentro la Universidad Industrial de Santander, tales como el ingreso y egreso a programas académicos, la participación en docencia y en los ámbitos administrativos. Inicialmente, se realiza una contextualización de los hechos legales que han influido en el desarrollo de la mujer colombiana, santandereana y de la UIS; seguido de una contextualización sociodemográfica departamental para situar el panorama en que la mujer de la universidad se desenvuelve. Posteriormente, se realiza una recopilación de información y elaboración de una base de datos para las variables de estudio, tomadas de la plataforma UIS en Cifras. A partir de esto se elabora el análisis descriptivo de las mismas, el cual arrojó que dentro de la institución prevalecen sesgos de género que se acentúan según las áreas de formación y los niveles jerárquicos del ámbito laboral en que incursiona la mujer
dc.description.abstractenglishThe participation of women in society has been limited in many aspects due to the archaic beliefs of women being in charge of household chores, however, year after year their representation is gaining importance at a global level. The analysis of women's participation makes it possible to determine the inequalities that the female gender must face and, likewise, to become aware of the policies or solutions so that they can make better inroads into society; however, this type of studies within the institution are scarce. This research analyzes the participation of women, through time, in different areas within the Universidad Industrial de Santander, such as the entrance and graduation to academic programs, participation in teaching and in administrative areas. Initially, a contextualization of the legal facts that have influenced the development of Colombian, Santander and UIS women is carried out, followed by a departmental sociodemographic contextualization to situate the panorama in which women at the university develop. Subsequently, information is collected and a database is created for the study variables, taken from the UIS en Cifras platform. Based on this, a descriptive analysis of the variables was made, which showed that within the institution there are gender biases that are accentuated according to the areas of training and the hierarchical levels of the work environment in which women are involved
