dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación se desarrolló en la Institución Educativa Provenza, ubicada en el municipio de Bucaramanga, Santander, Barrio Provenza, con el propósito de propiciar el desarrollo de competencias científicas a partir de situaciones de aprendizaje contextualizadas que contribuyan a mitigar las prácticas pedagógicas tradicionalistas que ha imperado en el área de ciencias naturales. Este trabajo se direccionó desde la investigación-acción, enfoque metodológico que brindó a la población participante la oportunidad de intervenir activamente en cada una de las fases del proceso investigativo y abordar, desde las situaciones de enseñanza contextualizadas, la problemática detectada, a fin de lograr una comprensión más profunda sobre los fenómenos o situaciones del contexto y desarrollar competencias científicas. Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que las situaciones y problemáticas del contexto, una vez llevadas al aula de clase, tienen el potencial para captar el interés de los estudiantes, logrando que la enseñanza y el aprendizaje se revista de autenticidad, sentido y utilidad, además de facilitar el desarrollo de capacidades que actualmente se consideran fundamentales en el área de ciencias naturales y que son relevantes para desempeñarse con éxito en la sociedad actual, tales como: el uso comprensivo del conocimiento científico, la explicación de fenómenos y la indagación. 1
dc.description.abstractenglishThe present research was carried out at the Provenza Educational Institution, located in the municipality of Bucaramanga, Santander, with the purpose of promoting the development of scientific competences from contextualized learning situations that contribute to mitigate the traditionalist pedagogical practices that have prevailed in the natural sciences area. This work was directed from action research, a methodological approach that gave the participating population the opportunity to actively intervene in each of the phases of the research process and address, from contextualized teaching situations, the problem detected, in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the phenomena or situations of the context and develop scientific competencies. The results obtained showed that the situations and problems of the context, once taken to the classroom, have the potential to capture the interest of the students, ensuring that teaching and learning is authentic, meaning and useful, as well as facilitating the development of capacities that are currently considered fundamental in the area of natural sciences and that are relevant to perform successfully in today's society, such as: the comprehensive use of scientific knowledge, the explanation of phenomena and inquiry. 3
