dc.description.abstractenglish | Beekeeping, an activity that has gained popularity in recent years for its participation in pollination processes, honey production and by-products. The breeding of queen bees ensures the health and growth of the hives. The objective is to compare the quality of queen bees produced under two systems; Jenter system (Treatment 1), and traditional system (Treatment 2). The methodology was randomized with five hives, donor hives and brooder, two frames were used, treatment one upper line and treatment two lower lines for the first experimental trial, changing the line each trial, variability analysis of the systems (Jenter and traditional) was performed under a qualitative study through frequency tables with the tukey method. The results for acceptance rate and opercula cells in the traditional method were higher in trials 1 (36.4) and 3 (27.3) while the Jenter was better in trials 2 (9.5), 4 and 5 (19%). For the percentage of queens emerged, the traditional method was better in trials 1 (45.5%) and 4 (36.4%), the Jenter method was better in trial 5 (28.6). The measurements of head, thorax and hind legs do not have significant differences, the measurements of abdomen and wings present significant differentiation values, obtaining better queens than the traditional system, the traditional method presents 25.02% greater acceptance of larvae than the Jenter 19.98%, which triggers equal or better percentages in capped cells and queen bees born alive, highlighting the traditional method to carry out the constant replacement of queen bees to increase productivity in the area.
