dc.description.abstractLa ciudad de Bucaramanga para la segunda mitad del siglo XX se convirtió en una ciudad prometedora en su ámbito comercial e infraestructural. En el área cultural contaba con varias salas de teatros y de cine que hacían parte del recorrido social y de los espacios de sociabilidad. No obstante, en esta segunda mitad del siglo muchos de esos lugares empiezan a transformarse. Este articulo busca restaurar la memoria de estos sitios, analizando su dinámica y transformaciones; busca contribuir al conocimiento general sobre la historiografía del cine y la ciudad, específicamente a la necesidad de conservar la memoria de las actividades de recreación y entretenimiento relacionadas con los teatros y salas de cine entre 1973 y 1980. La investigación explora desde la cartelera de cine del diario Vanguardia Liberal, las variaciones y adaptaciones de las salas y teatros, cambios en las preferencias de entretenimiento, la aparición de nuevas salas, la censura hacia el cine y las trasformaciones urbanas que estas generaron. De esta manera se llegó a la pregunta central de la investigación ¿Cuáles fueron las trasformaciones en las prácticas socio-culturales propiciadas por los teatros y salas de cine de Bucaramanga entre 1973 y 1980?
dc.description.abstractenglishThe city of Bucaramanga, in the second half of the 20th century, became a promising urban center in terms of commerce and infrastructure. Culturally, it had several theaters and cinemas that were part of the city's spaces of sociability. However, during this period, many of these venues began to undergo transformations. This study seeks to restore the memory of these spaces by analyzing their dynamics and transformations. It aims to contribute to the broader historiography of cinema and urban life, specifically addressing the need to preserve the memory of recreational and entertainment activities related to theaters and cinemas between 1973 and 1980. The research explores the film listings from the newspaper Vanguardia Liberal, examining variations and adaptations in theaters and cinemas, shifts in entertainment preferences, the emergence of new venues, film censorship, and the urban transformations these changes brought about. From this analysis, the central research question arises: What were the transformations in socio-cultural practices brought about by the theaters and cinemas of Bucaramanga between 1973 and 1980?
