dc.description.abstractCon el fin de establecer el tipo de bitumen solido presente en la Vereda La Tigra, en el municipio de Rionegro, Santander fue necesario establecer las características físicas y químicas, que permiten clasificar este tipo de material, así como también su caracterización geoquímica, y la relación que estás tienen en el ámbito geológico. En algunos casos la presencia de diques de asfaltita están relacionados con la tectónica y la estratigrafía, en el caso de estudio el ambiente tectónico está influenciado por las Fallas Lebrija y La Tigra, que cortan y ponen en contacto formaciones cretácicas y cenozoicas. En este trabajo se analizaron 5 muestras recolectadas en campo tomadas de la Formación La Luna, Umir y Lisama, del norte de la cuenca Valle Medio del Magdalena (Vereda La Tigra), a las cuales se les realizaron estudios para determinar sus propiedades físicas como solubilidad, densidad y punto de ablandamiento. Además, se realizaron pruebas para determinar las características químicas como contenido de Carbono, Nitrógeno, Oxigeno y Azufre, así también se caracterizó geológicamente la zona basada en estudios geoquímicos tales como Contenido Total de Carbono Orgánico y Reflectancia de Vitrinita, con el fin de determinar qué tipo de asfaltita están presentes en la zona y que condiciones geológicas dan lugar a su formación.
dc.description.abstractenglishIn order to establish the type of solid bitumen present in the Tigra district, in the municipality of Rionegro, Santander, it is necessary to know the physical and chemical characteristics that allow classifying this type of material, as well as the geochemical characteristics and their relationship in the geological field. In some cases the presence of asphaltite bodies are related to the tectonics and stratigraphy, in the case of study the tectonic environment is influenced by the Lebrija and La Tigra, faults, which cut and get the Cretaceous and Cenozoic formations in contact. In this paper, 5 samples collected in the field taken from the La Luna, Umir and Lisama Formation, from the north of the basin Valle Medio del Magdalena (Vereda La Tigra), were analyzed. The studies were carried out to determine their physical properties as solubility, density and point of softening and chemical characteristics such as Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen and Sulfur content, as well as being geologically characterized based on geochemical studies such as Total Organic Carbon Content and Vitrinite Reflectance, in order to determine what type of asphaltites are present in the area and what geological conditions give rise to the formation of these.
