dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo se centra en el análisis semiótico de una obra escrita durante la segunda mitad del siglo XIX en Colombia y responde a la pregunta sobre la figuración y categorización de un otro dentro de un discurso elaborado en y por una situación de enunciación específica. La obra seleccionada se titula la Peregrinación de Alpha y fue escrita por Manuel Ancízar en 1850. Uno de los elementos que se quieren resaltar es la forma como se figura al otro en un diario de viaje; o sea, la manera como uno de los intelectuales colombianos de la primera mitad del siglo XIX, inmerso en un mundo natural preciso, se representó al pueblo en aras de inventar una nación. Con ello surgen tres hipótesis que se corresponden con la hipótesis general y con cada una de las preguntas de investigación; se trata entonces de hablar de la figuración del tiempo (el pasado registrado en su positividad, que puede y debe ser contado), del espacio (la construcción de un espacio social en el cual se da el encuentro con el otro), y de las características que le son otorgadas al otro (los programas narrativos de lo que el narrador denomina como pueblo chibcha el cual pasa de ser un sujeto caracterizado por su genialidad y laboriosidad hasta convertirse en un pueblo miserable que no recuerda el pasado en el que fue civilizado, atado a la tradición y a la miseria). Se debe decir que, desde el punto de vista de este trabajo aparece un hipótesis general: la figuración hecha en la narración de Alpha, aparece combinadas dos estratos epistémicos diferentes: por un lado el ilustrado del siglo XIX y por el otro el romántico del XIX.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis paperwork focuses on a semiotic analysis of a text from the second half of the 19th century in Colombia and aims at answering to the question about the configuration of the other, categorized within a discourse elaborated in and by a specific situation of enunciation. The text selected is the Peregrination of Alpha, written by Manuel Ancízar in 1850. An outstanding element to be mentioned is the way in which the other is configured in a journey diary; in other terms, the way that a Colombian intellectual from the first half of the 19th century, immersed in a precise natural world, represented himself the population in order to create a nation. That is how three research hypotheses emerge, corresponding to the general hypothesis and to each one of the research questions; thus, it is a matter of talking about time (a past registered in its positivity, enabled and required to be told), space figuration (the construction of a social space in which a meeting with the other happens) and the characteristics which are attributed to that other (what the narrator calls “chibcha people” who shifts from a subject characterized by its geniality and hard work to become dejected people who cannot remember the past where it was civilized, and is attached to tradition and misery). It must be said that, from the point of view of this work, a general hypothesis appears: in the figuration made in Alpha’s narration, two epistemic layers come out combined, the 19th century illustrated on the one hand and the 19th century romantic on the other hand.
