_______________________________
dc.description.abstractenglish | Coffee industry represents one of the major constituents of the Colombian agro-industry, with an annual production reaching 12.1 million of 60 kg bags, in 2014. However, the production of coffee is considered one of the more pollutant industries in the world: about 5 L of wastewater per kg of parchment coffee are discarded. Wastewaters of coffee production are complex organic substrates; the phylum Actinobacteria is involved in the biodegradation of such compounds and exhibit a high biotechnological potential for the production of antibiotics, antitumor agents, immunosuppressive agents, enzymes and fuel gases. The aim of this study was to characterize, by microbiological and molecular techniques, actinobacteria isolated from slime pools of an organic coffee processing factory, from Mesa de los Santos (Santander). Preliminary, the identification was made by analyzing microbiological characteristics, complemented with sequence alignments of 16S rRNA gene. We isolated and identified 21 actinobacteria strains, including Micrococcus, Gordonia, Leifsonia, Arthrobacter and Streptomyces genera, this latter being the most representative (67%). Our findings provide new insights into the composition of the Actinobacteria community of the coffee residues or wastewaters. The isolated strains could be used for further evaluation of their potential in the production of H2 and the search of bacterial multicopper oxidase isoforms. ______________________________
