dc.description.abstractenglish | Anaerobic digestion (AD) is an attractive strategy for energy recovery in the form of biogas, producing organic fertilizers, and control emissions of greenhouse gases from organic waste, one of this waste is chicken manure (CM). It is the most representative of the poultry. In this study the effect of ammonia concentration in the DA process in the GJ was evaluated. Initially it was operated in batch mode at different organic load (OL), by assaying biomethanation to find the maximum methane production without the system is inhibited, also the speed or decay constant (Kdis) was evaluated through the kinetics of Monod. Subsequently it operated in continuous mode to determine the point at which it becomes unstable and inhibits the process from the OL. Variables as VFA, AT, pH, ART and TAN, are monitored during the experiment at ambient temperature. The results showed that the best OL was the 17 g VS / L with a yield of 0.31 m3 CH4 / kg VS, because at this point the largest methane production was obtained. This OL proceeded to feed the digester in continuous mode, determining that the inhibition by ammonium starts the day 75, when the system is powered by the second organic loading rate (OLR). Finally it was found that the AD supports the high OL in the CM, but after the peak inhibition by high concentrations of ammonium is imminent.
