dc.description.abstract | DISTAL, TORNILLOS DE ESPONJOSA, PINES.
dc.description.abstractenglish | The objective of this research is to evaluate and compare three different methods of osteosynthesis for the same type of fracture in the distal femur. The elements used in this study were sponge screws and pins. Knee fractures in the distal femur, although not as common, are an important cause of patient morbidity, because surgical treatment can be a challenge for the surgeon. The intercondylar pressure was studied in different knees of porcine before the fracture and after the osteosynthesis with screws and pins in different configurations in order to study the existence of significant differences between them. They were dissected, leaving the static stabilizers intact. Subsequently, the data collection was carried out using Tekscan sensors, using a constant 400 N load. For the measurement of intercondylar contact properties, Tekscan Pressure Mapping Sensor 4000 sensors were used, and they were connected to a transducer. The ANOVA analysis showed that the fixation methods used in this study are not directly related to the properties of area, pressure, peak force, peak pressure and failure load, and therefore are not an influential factor when performing the selection of the best methods of fixation. In the analysis carried out on the last load tests, this resulted in the absence of significant differences in the data group, all configurations failed at an average force of 4306 [N]. The fracture model proposed resulted in a muller b1 and b2 fracture in 100% of the samples, with a partial detachment of the posterior cruciate ligament in 30% of the samples. 73% of the fractures were type b2 and 27% type b1. 2 Bachelor
