dc.description.abstractEn este Trabajo de Grado se profundizó el aspecto demográfico de la ciudad San Juan Girón, por su importancia geopolítica como cabeza de Gobierno, al igual, que se mostraron las tendencias demográficas de las Parroquias de Bucaramanga y Piedecuesta, por hacer parte de la jurisdicción del cabildo de Girón al finalizar el período colonial e iniciar el siglo XIX. De esta manera, se ofreció una descripción cuantitativa de las series de bautismos, matrimonios y defunciones para las tres poblaciones, sin dejar de lado una explicación cualitativa que estuvo ligada a los aspectos sociales y religiosos de finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX. Así mismo, se tuvo en cuenta las herramientas aportadas por la Demografía Histórica, dándose a la información el tratamiento conocido como Explotación Anónima, que consistió en ir anotando en fichas preparadas con posterioridad a una revisión inicial de los librosregistro, los datos que ofrecían las actas, omitiendo la identidad de las personas a que se referían. Por tanto, se establecieron las variables de: sexo, edad, status socio-racial, legitimidad, estado civil, lugar de procedencia y causa mortis, que hicieron posible estimar el crecimiento natural de cada una de las poblaciones; el movimiento estacional de los bautizos, matrimonios y defunciones; al igual que mostrar los períodos de incremento o disminución arrojados por cada una de las variables trabajadas para el lapso de 1801-1830, las cuales se mostraron de forma quinquenal en tablas, cuadros y gráficas. De acuerdo al análisis cuantitativo se pudo concluir que el proceso independentista no afectó la realización de ceremonias de bautizos, matrimonios y defunciones, por el contrario, incentivó su práctica y registro en San Juan Girón, Bucaramanga y Piedecuesta de 18011830.
dc.description.abstractenglishIn this paper it is studied the demographic aspect of San Juan Giron city, because of its geopolitical importance as head of Government. At the some time, it is also shown the demographic bias of Bucaramanga and Piedecuesta village due to the fact they both belonged to the Giron's jurisdiction when finishing the colonial epoque and starting the XIX century. By this way, it was given a quantitative description of baptisms, marriages and deceases registration series for all three towns; without leaving aside a qualitative explanation that was linked to some social and religious aspects at the end of the XVIII and at the beginning of the XIX century. Likewise, it was kept in mind the tools contributed by the Historical Demography, giving to the information the well-known treatment as Anonymous Exploitation. This consisted in taking notes in prepared filling card after the initial revision of the registration-books, the data some records offered (omitting the people identity they referred to). Therefore, it was established some aspects for taking into account: sex, age, social and race status, lawfulness, marital status, birthplace and mortis causes. All this made possible to regard the natural growth of each town; the montly statistics by quinquenials of baptisms, marriages and decease; and at he some time, to show the increase or decrease periods revealed (by the seven points mentioned above) during the determined period (1801-1830). They were shown in a fiveyear charts, squares and graphics. According to the quantitative analysis it is concluded that, the independent process did not affect the realization of baptisms, marriages and decease by the contrary, it increased its practice and registration in San Juan Giron, Bucaramanga and Piedecuesta towns, from 1801 to 1830
