dc.description.abstractLa agricultura es un sector sumamente importante para la economía colombiana que enfrenta diferentes retos de sostenibilidad y competitividad debido a los costos de importación de productos agrícolas, la poca inversión y la amenaza del cambio climático. En este proyecto se propone un prototipo de sistema de información web que les permita a los actores de la cadena productiva del maíz acceder a información relacionada con la producción del maíz, particularmente en el departamento de Cesar, con el fin de generar conocimiento para tomar decisiones basadas en la información histórica geoespacial del clima en ciertos puntos de observación a lo largo del departamento y de la producción de maíz en los municipios. El prototipo de sistema de información contiene herramientas visuales con una interfaz amigable e intuitiva que permiten hacer un análisis espaciotemporal de la oferta climática, así como la divulgación de noticias y notas de interés como pronósticos del estado del tiempo, estadísticas financieras, planes estratégicos para el aumento productivo del cultivo y otras proporcionadas por diferentes entidades y gremios en el país
dc.description.abstractenglishAgriculture is an immensely important sector for the Colombian economy that faces different sustainability and competitiveness challenges due to the costs of importing agricultural products, low investment, and the threat of climate change. This project proposes a prototype web-based information system that allows actors in the corn production chain to access information related to corn production, particularly in the department of Cesar, in order to generate knowledge for decision making based on historical geospatial information on climate at certain observation points throughout the department and corn production in the municipalities. The prototype information system contains interactive visual tools, with a friendly and intuitive interface that allows a spatiotemporal analysis of the climate supply, as well as the divulgation of news and notes of interest such as weather forecasts, financial statistics and strategic plans for the productive increase of the crop, among others provided by different entities and associations in the country
