dc.description.abstract	Marmosa robinsoni es una especie de marsupial perteneciente a la familia Didelphidae, esta representa a la mayoría de los marsupiales distribuidos en América. Es un individuo de talla pequeña (<200gr), con cola prensil, nocturno y sin presencia de marsupio. Al igual que la mayoría de marsupiales del nuevo mundo, M. robinsoni se encuentra poco estudiada. A pesar de que se trata del factor distintivo entre metaterios y euterios, son nulas las descripciones de su sistema reproductivo, por lo cual, el presente trabajo pretende dilucidar la morfología e histología reproductiva de esta especie, así como los caracteres secundarios indicadores de actividad reproductiva. A través del muestreo y captura en un parche de bosque seco tropical: “El Bosque del agüil”, ubicado en el municipio de Aguachica-Cesar, se obtuvieron 8 individuos (machos y hembras) que posteriormente fueron disecados y con cuyos órganos y ductos se describió su morfología macroscópica, para posteriormente ser empleados en procesos de histotecnia con el fin de describir su histología. Se estableció que la disposición de mamas y testículos prominentes son indicadores de actividad reproductiva y a partir de los estudios de microscopía óptica realizados, se determinó que el sistema reproductivo de M. robinsoni sigue ciertos patrones reportados para otros marsupiales en cuanto a disposición y caracterización de los órganos y ductos constituyentes de este sistema, de igual forma, se encontró concordancia en la gametogénesis; en contraposición a esto, se hallaron ciertas diferencias en aspectos tales como cantidad de glándulas bulbouretrales, conformación bífida del pene, coloración de la túnica albugínea en testículos y tipo epitelial de la vagina medial.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Marmosa robinsoni is a species of marsupial belonging to the family Didelphidae, which represents the majority of marsupials distributed in America. It is a small-sized individual (<200gr), with prehensile tail, nocturnal and without presence of marsupium. Like most marsupials of the New World, M. robinsoni is little studied. Although it is the distinguishing factor between metatherians and eutherians, there are no descriptions of its reproductive system; therefore, the present work aims to elucidate the morphology and reproductive histology of this species as well as the secondary characters indicative of reproductive activity. Through sampling and capture in a patch of tropical dry forest: "El Bosque del agüil", located in the municipality of Aguachica-Cesar, 8 individuals were obtained (males and females) that were later dissected and whose organs and ducts were used to describe their macromorphology, to be later used in histotechnical processes in order to describe their histology. It was established that the arrangement of breasts and prominent testes are indicators of reproductive activity and from the optical microscopy studies performed, it was determined that the reproductive system of M. robinsoni follows certain patterns reported for other marsupials in terms of arrangement and characterization of the organs and ducts constituting this system, likewise, concordance was found in gametogenesis; in contrast, certain differences were found in aspects such as number of bulbourethral glands, bifid aspect of the penis, coloration of the tunica albuginea in testes and epithelial type of the medial vagina.
