dc.description.abstractEsta investigación se centra en el análisis semiótico del ritual del velorio en la comunidad de San Antonio, población ubicada en el departamento de Sucre, en Colombia. Por medio de este estudio se pretende analizar el sentido que emerge y sus operaciones de construcción en la articulación de la dimensión espacial y temporal de este ritual. El texto se presenta en tres capítulos. En el primero se hace un acercamiento al problema de la investigación, sus objetivos y su justificación. Así mismo se centra en la descripción geográfica e histórica del lugar en donde se llevó a cabo la investigación y las características de sus habitantes. En el segundo, se exponen los niveles de análisis de los datos obtenidos y se hacen aproximaciones a su organización y a su codificación teniendo en cuenta la caracterización y funcionalidad del ritual de velación. También se presentan los recursos de orden teórico empleados para la interpretación del sentido del ritual y una relación entre la semiótica general, la semiótica del discurso y algunas disciplinas que convergen con este tipo de estudios. Finalmente, en el tercer capítulo se muestra y se propone a manera de conclusión los desafíos o retos que este tipo investigación presenta y los problemas por resolver desde la perspectiva semiótica sumergidos en el papel que ésta cumple dentro de la compleja elaboración y construcción de la dinámica cultural.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis paper is based on the semiotic analysis of the rite of wake in the community of San Antonio, a small town placed in the department of Sucre, in Colombia. By means of this investigation the investigator pretends to analyze the way how the signification and the sense emerge in each instance of the rite and how its operations in the construction and the articulation of the time-space dimension appear. The paper is presented in three chapters. In the first one, the problem of investigation, the objectives and the justification are treated. In the same way, the geographic and historic description of the place and the main characteristics of its people where the investigation was carried out are showed. In the second one, the levels of analysis of the gathered data are exposed. Also it is made an approximation and the way how the information was coded having in mind the function and the character of the rite. In this chapter are also presented the sources of the theoretical order used in the interpretation of the sense of the rite and a relation between general semiotics, speech semiotics, and some other disciplines which converge with this sort of work. Finally, in the third chapter it is showed and proposed as a conclusion the challenges that this kind of investigation has in order to solve since the perspective of the semiotic according to the role that this discipline fulfills in the complex elaboration and construction of the cultural dynamics.
