dc.description.abstractIndustrial, Espacio Urbano, Espacio Público, Progreso. El proceso de industrialización generado en el marco de las medidas de sustitución de importaciones de mediados del siglo XX otorgó unas condiciones particulares al proceso de urbanización en Colombia, que hizo de éste un fenómeno particular a nivel del sistema urbano Latinoamericano. De esta manera, ciudades como Bogotá, Medellín y Cali se consolidaron en el sistema urbano a partir de su liderazgo en sus respectivos circuitos espaciales de producción. Fue sin duda este modelo el responsable para que Colombia no desarrollara un sistema urbano con una ciudad principal. Asimismo la puesta en marcha de industrias como la siderúrgica, por su tipo de producción determinó una localización industrial en función de la ubicación de la materia prima, generando un sistema socio-económico de enclave. Por esto, la ciudad de Sogamoso constituye una de las excepciones dentro de la historia urbana en el país, ya que fue afectada directamente por el proyecto industrial siderúrgico gracias a la ventaja comparativa que la ubicación de la materia prima determinó. El fenómeno de acumulación urbana llevó a Sogamoso a experimentar un periodo de transición traumático y complejo, aunque de pequeña envergadura. Paralelo a un inusitado aumento poblacional a mediados de siglo como consecuencia de la atracción laboral de la industria siderúrgica; la vida urbana expresada en el discurso del progreso y la modernidad sufrió una transformación a medias, dinamizando aspectos urbanos como los bienes raíces y los servicios públicos, a la par que consolidó el ordenamiento y funcionalidad del espacio urbano. Hasta en el plano simbólico, el ícono industrial personificado en torno a la siderúrgica de Paz del Río, permitió a Sogamoso plasmar una características principales que marcaron su proceso de transformación urbana.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe process of industrialization created in the scenario of the steps of substitution of imported goods in the middle of the Twentieth century, gave some particular conditions to the urbanization process in Colombia. This fact turned it into a particular phenomenon concerning the Latin-American urban system. So, some cities like Bogotá, Medellin and Cali have grown in the urban system due to their leadership in their own spatial área of production. It was undoubtedly, the responsible prototype that stopped the development of an urban system in a principal city in Colombia. In this way, the implementation of industries such as the iron and steel company, due to its kind of production, determined an industrial position because of the producer goods localization, creating a socio-economic system of settlement. As a result of this, Sogamoso city is one of the exceptions in the urban history of the country since it was affected by the iron and steel Industrial project thanks to the comparative advantage determined by the producer goods. Because of the urban agglomeration phenomenon, Sogamoso city underwent a not so shocking transition period parallel to an unusual population growth in the middle of the century as a consequence of the labour attraction to the iron and steel industry. The urban life and the modernity in terms of progress underwent an incomplete transformation activating urban aspects such as real estate and utilities. At the same time, it consolidated the organization and usefulness in the urban área. The industrial icon represented around the iron and steel paz del rio company was so important that let Sogamoso city be considered as an industrial city that set a difference regarding to its legacy as an agricultural town. All of these main characteristics determined its urban transformation process
