dc.description.abstractA partir de la nueva teoría del comercio mundial y sus más recientes exponentes, se ha logrado analizar, la presencia de un tipo de comercio cuyo comportamiento difiere del propuesto por las teorías convencionales; que explicaban el tráfico comercial desde las ventajas comparativas bajo competencia perfecta y rendimientos constantes a escala, por lo que se profundiza sobre este fenómeno que presenta de manera simultánea un flujo de exportaciones e importaciones del mismo producto entre países, conocido como comercio intraindustrial. Basados en la hipótesis de ajuste suave planteada por Balassa, se pretende probar si el comercio intraindustrial logra reducir los costos en términos de empleo en mayor medida que el comercio interindustrial para el sector manufacturero del departamento de Santander, bajo las relaciones comerciales con dos de sus principales socios en el mercado externo. Este trabajo intentará realizar en primer lugar un panorama general del departamento Santandereano en términos de comercio internacional, junto con los hechos más importantes en materia de comercio intraindustrial con Estados Unidos y Venezuela para el periodo de 1995-2007, a continuación se hará un análisis empírico de la evolución del comercio intraindustrial en Santander en la industria manufacturera a partir de indicadores dinámicos y cuasi dinámicos del CII haciendo un estudio comparativo del comportamiento presente en los dos países referidos, Posteriormente Basados en los estudios y en los resultados de las medidas del comercio intraindustrial y CII marginal y una aproximación de la hipótesis de ajuste suave, se logrará analizar si este tipo de comercio genera en las economías menores costes de ajuste que el comercio interindustrial, haciendo una reflexión acerca de la confirmación de la hipótesis y el impacto de este comercio en el ajuste de la economía santandereana.
dc.description.abstractenglishFrom the new theory of world trade and its most recent exponents, has analyzed the presence of a type of trade whose behavior differs from that proposed by conventional theories, explaining the commercial traffic from the comparative advantages under perfect competition and constant performance to scale, so that delves into this phenomenon that simultaneously presents a flow of exports and imports of the same product between countries, known as intraindustry trade. Based on the smooth adjustment hypothesis referred by Balassa, is intended to test whether intra-industry trade is able to reduce costs in terms of employment to a greater extent than inter-industry trade for the manufacturing sector of the department of Santander, under the trade relations with two of his main partners in the international market. First of all this work will make a general overview of Santander department in terms of international trade, coupled with the most important events in intra-industry trade with the United States and Venezuela for the period 1995-2007, then an analysis will empirical the evolution in intra-industry trade in manufacturing Santander from dynamic and quasi-dynamic indicators of CII making a comparative study present in the two countries concerned, later Based on the studies and the results of the measures of intraindustry trade and marginal CII and an approximation of the smooth adjustment hypothesis, analysis will be achieved if this type of trade in the smaller economies generates adjustment costs than inter-industry trade, by reflecting on the confirmation of the hypothesis and the impact of this trade adjustment of santander™s economy.
