dc.description.abstractenglish | The structural style analysis and the deformation kinematics definition of the Medina Basin made possible the creation of a 3D model that can be kinematically restored and allow to defines high concentration areas of brittle deformation. Additionally, the timing definition of the brittle deformation by exhumation rates allows their use in structural analysis of petroleum system in the Medina Basin. From the structural analysis the Guaicaramo fault is define as a complex geometry structure responsible for generate the Guavio anticline and the Río Amarillo syncline. Besides, this fault has a lateral ramp with SW vergence which divides the Medina basin into two structural zones. To the SW with the presence of the Aguaclara fault that exhibits a ramp-flat-ramp geometry and to the NE where the greatest amount of displacement is given through the Guaicaramo fault and the Aguaclara fault is replaced by minor faulting. The structural style definition and the deformation kinematics of the Medina Basin allow to establishing the Río Amarillo syncline and the frontlimb of the Guavio anticline as areas with high deformation and more likely to fracture concentration. Finally the comparison of the deformation timing with the petroleum system allows to establish that the Medina Basin presents hydrocarbons from local cuisines that initiated their separation from the Miocene-Pliocene, but the displacement of the last ~4My generated fracturing that initially may have contributed to the connectivity of the reservoirs but in the last ~2My compromised the integrity of seals rocks of one of the main traps (anticlinal Guavio) in the Medina Basin.
