dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación pretende contribuir dentro de las investigaciones relacionadas con los conflictos interpersonales que se presentaron en el espacio social y geográfico de la Provincia de Soto durante las tres primeras décadas del siglo XX, justamente cuando la dinámica de violencia política se está transformando de Guerras Civiles, con ejércitos organizados desde los grupos de poder, a guerra de guerrillas campesinas entre partidarios de los partidos liberal y conservador. El espíritu que guía esta investigación está en diagnosticar el estadio de formación del Estado Nación durante el inicio del siglo XX, más aún cuando se considera que este es el periodo donde se consigue el monopolio legal de la fuerza. Sin embargo, se cuestiona tal hipótesis considerando, a la luz de la teoría de la civilización de Norbert Elias y de la escuela que se conformó a partir de sus estudios, que el monopolio de la fuerza no solamente implica el control de la guerra organizada sino además el autocontrol de los individuos que habitan un territorio nacional. En ese sentido, esta investigación valora el nivel de impulsividad en los homicidios cometidos en el periodo, el papel del alcohol en los mismos, el espectro del trabajo y el tiempo libre, y así mismo aquellos homicidios donde se utilizaba la violencia como medio para obtener un fin; con el fin de dar una primera mirada a la construcción del Estado Nación colombiano en ese periodo histórico
dc.description.abstractenglishThis research aims to contribute in research related to interpersonal conflicts that were presented at the social and geographical space of the Soto Province during the first three decades of the twentieth century, just as the dynamics of political violence is being transformed from Civil Wars, with organized armies from the power groups, to peasant guerrilla war between supporters of liberal and conservative parties. The spirit that guides this research is to diagnose the stage of formation of the nation state during the beginning of the twentieth century, even more so when one considers that this is the period where the country gets the legal monopoly of force. However, this hypothesis is questioned considering, in light of the theory of civilization of Norbert Elias and the school that was formed from their studies, that the monopoly of force not only involves control of the organized war, but also selfcoercion of individuals inhabiting a territory. In that sense, this research assesses the level of impulsivity in the homicides committed in the period, the role of alcohol in them, the spectrum of work and leisure, and also those homicides where violence was used as a means of obtaining a goal, in order to provide a first look at the construction of the nationstate in that Colombian historical period.
