dc.description.abstractEn el presente trabajo de grado el objetivo principal es evidenciar cómo la identidad moderna descrita por Charles Taylor, en su obra Fuentes del yo, se construye con base en la cultura y los acuerdos morales en los que conviven los sujetos. Así pues, el interés que toma como referente esta investigación se basa en lo que Taylor enfatiza sobre el ejercicio de que construir la identidad es posible gracias a que se desarrolla un cambio en la comprensión del “yo”. De igual manera, Taylor expone un recuento histórico sobre los cambios culturales y morales, teniendo en cuenta que según el espacio-tiempo en el que se encuentren los sujetos estos se verán afectados de maneras diferentes en su proceso de identificación con otros y esto influye en el proceso de reconocimiento como un “yo” en sociedad. Las obras clave para este trabajo de investigación son: La ética de la autenticidad, El multiculturalismo y “la política del reconocimiento” y Fuentes del yo: la construcción de la identidad moderna, siendo esta última la obra principal de esta monografía. En consecuencia, la finalidad de este trabajo de grado es demostrar que la construcción de la identidad moderna parte de la relación social, del espacio geográfico que ocupan las personas y de lo considerado ‘bueno’ en términos morales.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe main objective of this degree work is to show how the modern identity described by Charles Taylor, in his work Sources of the self, is constructed from the culture and moral agreements in which the subjects live together. Thus, the interest of this research is based on what Taylor emphasizes about the fact that the exercise of identity construction is possible thanks to the development of a change in the understanding of the “I”. Likewise, Taylor exposes a historical account of the cultural and moral changes, taking into account that according to the space-time in which the subjects are, they will be affected in different ways in their process of identification with others and this influences the process of recognition as “I” in society. The key works for this research work are: The ethics of authenticity, Multiculturalism and “the politics of recognition” and Sources of the self: the construction of modern identity, the latter being the main work of this monograph. Consequently, the purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that the construction of modern identity is based on the social relationship, on the geographical space people occupy and on what is considered “good” in moral terms.
