dc.description.abstractDurante el año de 1977, Colombia fue el escenario de una serie de movilizaciones populares, producto del inconformismo de estos sectores ante la difícil situación económica y social por la que atravesaba el país durante el gobierno de Alfonso López Michelsen (1974-1978). Como elemento hegemónico de control, el Estado ejerció una violencia institucional contra estos sectores sociales, transformando la experiencia de muchos pobladores del campo y la ciudad, y creando rupturas irreparables en los diferentes escenarios de la vida cotidiana. Ciertamente, fue en este escenario de reivindicaciones sociales y populares, en el que se desarrolló en Barrancabermeja la huelga más larga de los trabajadores de la industria del petróleo, quienes en su mayoría se encontraban agrupados en torno a la Unión Sindical Obrera U.S.O., organización sindical que ha liderado importantes luchas en esta ciudad. Ciertamente, esta investigación se propone reconstruir la huelga de 1977, a través de un análisis histórico que considera cómo en medio del conflicto laboral se replantearon ciertos grupos sociales que conformaron un bloque antihuelga, que intentó reafirmar su obrero, que agrupó a varios grupos sociales quienes brindaron su solidaridad a la huelga y protestaron a través de formas culturales de resistencia. De modo que, la Cultura de protesta al ser contrahegemónica, jugó un papel trascendental al construir en medio del conflicto laboral, momentos esperanzadores para un cambio social, basados en su cultura, sus tradiciones y prácticas, su visión del mundo, etc., resaltando la importancia del ejercicio del derecho a la huelga como forma de lucha laboral y transformadora del espacio social.
