dc.description.abstractLas avenidas torrenciales son crecidas repentinas producto de fuertes precipitaciones que causan aumentos rápidos del nivel de agua de los ríos y quebradas de alta pendiente; los cuales dependen de las condiciones morfométricas, geomorfológicas, y de los eventos de precipitación. Debido a que las avenidas torrenciales cuentan con un gran potencial destructivo se plantea la realización del estudio de susceptibilidad en la parte alta de la subcuenca de Riofrío ubicada en el municipio de Floridablanca, Santander; debido a que es una de las subcuencas con mayor preocupación por la ocurrencia de las avenidas torrenciales, puesto que ya se ha venido presentado este tipo de eventos en los últimos años. El proyecto se centra en identificar las áreas susceptibles por avenidas torrenciales a partir de los factores condicionantes que influyen en la parte alta de la subcuenca mediante un mapa de zonificación de susceptibilidad por avenidas torrenciales. Se llevó a cabo en un área de 46.5 km2 correspondiendo, en su mayoría al paisaje rural del municipio, en donde se realiza una caracterización geomorfológica hacia el sector de puente rojo, punto estratégico que divide el paisaje rural del paisaje urbano dentro de la subcuenca. Para realizar el mapa se tuvo en cuenta la morfometría de la zona y en el análisis de sensores remotos para producir mapas temáticos o mapas insumo a escala 1:25000. Finalmente, para generar el mapa de zonificación de susceptibilidad por avenida torrencial se ejecuta a partir de los insumos obtenidos basándose en un esquema de categorización cualitativa usando el proceso de jerarquía analítica (AHP). La susceptibilidad por avenida torrencial en la parte alta de la subcuenca de Riofrio se distribuye en cinco categorías, Muy Baja (10.7%), Baja (14.9%), Media (7.7%), Alta (5.8%) y Muy Alta (7.5%), las áreas más susceptibles se concentran en la parte central inferior de la subcuenca, de igual manera, en el área caracterizada se pueden evidenciar una geoforma remanente de llanura de inundación por el cauce concordante con el mapa de subunidades geomorfológicas, lo cual indicaría el paso de posibles avenidas torrenciales que sucedieron en el pasado.
dc.description.abstractenglishTorrential avenues are sudden floods resulting from heavy rainfall that cause rapid increases in the water level of rivers and steep ravines; which depend on morphometric, geomorphological conditions and precipitation events. Due to the fact that torrential avenues have a great destructive potential, a susceptibility study is proposed in the upper part of the Riofrío sub-basin located in the municipality of Floridablanca, Santander; because it is one of the sub-basins with the greatest concern for the occurrence of torrential floods, since this type of event has already been presented in recent years. The project focuses on identifying the areas susceptible to torrential avenues based on the conditioning factors that influence the upper part of the sub-basin through a zoning map of susceptibility to torrential avenues. It was carried out in an area of 46.5 km2, corresponding mostly to the rural landscape of the municipality, where a geomorphological characterization was carried out towards the Puente Rojo sector, a strategic point that divides the rural landscape from the urban landscape within the sub-basin. To make the map, the morphometry of the area and the analysis of remote sensors were taken into account to produce thematic maps or input maps at a scale of 1:25,000. Finally, to generate the zoning map of susceptibility by torrential avenues, it is executed from the inputs obtained based on a qualitative categorization scheme using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The susceptibility due to torrential avenues in the upper part of the Riofrio sub-basin is distributed in five categories, Very Low (10.7%), Low (14.9%), Medium (7.7%), High (5.8%) and Very High (7.5%). The most susceptible areas are concentrated in the lower central part of the sub-basin, in the same way, in the characterized area, a remnant geoform of a flood plain can be evidenced by the channel concordant with the map of geomorphological subunits, which would indicate the passage of possible torrential avenues that happened in the past.
