dc.description.abstractenglish | The research area is located on the western flank of the eastern mountain to the northeast of the department of Santander, in the vicinity of the municipality of Vetas, covering a work area of 98 km2. The topographical, geological, geomorphological conditions, uses and coverages of the land of the municipality of Vetas, have created favorable scenarios for the occurrence of mass movements, a situation that has been accentuated by anthropic processes such as mining and agriculture that have developed in mountainous areas. For this study, fuzzy sets that have been used in a large number of areas that range from basic mathematics to computational intelligence applied to traditional and advanced engineering are taken into account. Based on the Fuzzy Logic mathematical concept, the susceptibility map to mass movements was generated at a scale of 1: 25,000, implementing five conditioning attributes: Geology, Geomorphology, Slopes, Surface Geological Unit (UGS) and Land use, resulting in a categorization that it has five susceptibility ranges (Very low, Low, Medium, High and Very High), where 78% of mass movements are classified as high and very high susceptibility. This model was validated using the ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve with values of 0.867 indicating a good validation that demonstrates the reliability of the applied method. For the generation of the threat map to mass movements, the earthquake and rainfall triggers were defined, resulting in four threat categories (from Low to Very High), where the paths with high and very high threat correspond to Santa Úrsula, Pantanos, Bucare, San Francisco located in the West sector, and El Chopo village located towards the center of the work area. *
