dc.description.abstractEl Instituto de Proyección Regional y Educación a Distancia (IPRED) se encarga de gestionar el 31% de los programas académicos de pregrado ofrecidos por la Universidad Industrial de Santander, junto a los ciclos básicos de las ingenierías ofertadas en las sedes regionales. Para llevar el seguimiento académico de los estudiantes adscritos al instituto, se recolectan datos de sus participaciones en diferentes actividades llevadas a cabo durante el transcurso de su trayectoria universitaria. Esta recolección conlleva dificultades por las grandes cantidades de datos y el difícil acceso a ellos, ya que son gestionados en formatos digitales y físicos por diferentes unidades académicas y administrativas de la universidad, teniendo como resultado demoras en el análisis de casos de riesgos académicos y tomas de decisiones para apoyos estudiantiles sin un buen soporte en datos. De esta problemática surge la necesidad de contar con herramientas que faciliten el acceso y visualización de la participación académica de los estudiantes en los diferentes semestres que lleven vinculados a la universidad, para generar un impacto positivo en el bienestar personal y académico del estudiantado, es por ello que se define desarrollar e implementar un módulo web integrado en la plataforma IpredPlataformaTic la cual es una herramienta de gran importancia para la Subdirección Académica del IPRED, con el fin de apoyar la gestión y seguimientos de indicadores académicos de los estudiantes de primer semestre, ya que en este periodo de alta vulnerabilidad es de gran importancia conocer las condiciones de ingreso de los estudiantes de manera integral. Todo ello llevado a cabo bajo el Proceso Racional Unificado (RUP), una metodología que brinda los fundamentos necesarios para el desarrollo de cualquier tipo de software escalable desde cero, bajo un desarrollo iterativo y evolutivo que cubren todas las disciplinas de la ingeniería del software.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe Regional Projection and Distance Education Institute (IPRED) is responsible for managing 31% of the undergraduate academic programs offered by the Industrial University of Santander, along with the basic cycles of the engineering programs offered at the regional campuses. To track the academic progress of students affiliated with the institute, data is collected on their participation in various activities carried out during their university careers. This data collection presents difficulties due to the large amounts of data and difficult access to them, as they are managed in digital and physical formats by different academic and administrative units of the university, resulting in delays in the analysis of cases of academic risks and decision-making for student support without good data support. This problem gives rise to the need for tools that facilitate access and visualization of students' academic participation in the different semesters they are linked to the university, to generate a positive impact on the personal and academic well-being of the student body. Therefore, it is defined to develop and implement a web module integrated into the IpredPlataformaTic platform, which is a tool of great importance for the Academic Subdirection of IPRED, to support the management and monitoring of academic indicators of first-semester students, since in this period of high vulnerability it is of great importance to know the comprehensive entry conditions of the students. All of this is carried out under the Rational Unified Process (RUP), a methodology that provides the necessary foundations for the development of any scalable software from scratch, under an iterative and evolutionary development that covers all software engineering disciplines.
