dc.description.abstract“Revelaciones” es una propuesta artística que compara y cuestiona el uso desbordado de las imágenes religiosas e imágenes de entretenimiento, a través de la hibridación con técnica bi y tridimensional. Dicha comparación se hace con las imágenes de tres advocaciones del Niño Jesús como (Divino Niño Jesús, Santo Niño de Atocha y Niño Jesús de Praga) y el anime Dragon ball, Dragon ball Z y sus personajes niños (Gokú y Gohan). Teniendo en cuenta que las imágenes propuestas son creaciones que hacen parte de creencias culturales y del diario vivir de quien las usa, es la comparación entre ellas lo que le permite al observador descubrir sus similitudes en términos de uso, popularidad y en últimas, su comercio. En lo que respecta a esto último, lo que el comercio consigue de las imágenes religiosas o de entretenimiento infantiles es hacerlas un objeto más con el fin de persuadir hacia una cuestión más de consumo que es generado a partir de los objetos que se distribuyen y comercializan. Se plantean algunos referentes artísticos, porque ofrecer aportes plásticos y temáticos, permitiendo analizar lo que involucra objeto e imagen, cultura y sociedad. El presente documento aborda conceptos, como uso de imágenes, apropiación, hibridación y consumo. También se muestran antecedentes académicos y exploraciones personales que son fundamentales para el proceso, ya que el manejo de diversos materiales y técnicas exploradas permitió definir la parte plástica del proyecto.
dc.description.abstractenglish“Revelaciones” is an artistic piece that compares and questions the excessive use of both religious and entertainment imagery by making use of hybridization –a two/tridimensional art technique. The aforementioned hybridization compares objects of popular piety such as Child Jesus, Holy Infant of Atocha, and Child of Prague scapulars along with images from famous anime Dragon Ball’s child characters, Son Goku and Son Gohan. Taking into account that both types of images are a part of some people’s culture beliefs and daily life, it is the comparison of the two that allows spectators to spot the similarities in regards to their usage, popularity, and ultimately, their profits. As far as the latter is concerned, what commerce industry makes out of both objects of popular piety and entertainment is one more trading object stripped from its meaningfulness. There are some artistic references, because they offer plastic and thematic contributions, allowing to analyze what involves object and image, culture and society. This document deals with the concepts of image use, appropriation, hybridization and consumerism. It also shows academic background and personal explorations that are fundamental to the process, since the handling of various materials and techniques explored allowed to define the plastic part of the project.
