dc.description.abstractEstudio realizado con la financiación y apoyo de la empresa Greystar Resources Ltda., con el fin de conocer la riqueza y biodiversidad de flora y fauna encontrada en territorio de su propiedad ubicado en el páramo de Santurbán, vereda Angosturas, municipio de California, departamento de Santander; las formaciones delimitadas y estudiadas corresponden a bosque alto andino y vegetación de páramo, conformada por bosques de Polylepis, Pajonales, Matorrales y Frailejonales. La caracterización de la flora se hizo siguiendo diferentes metodologías de acuerdo al tipo de ecosistema, para el bosque altoandino se utilizó la empleada por el Instituto de Recursos Biológicos Alexander Von Humboldt, para la vegetación de páramo se aplicó la propuesta realizada por Rangel en su artículo “Métodos de estudio de la vegetación”. El reconocimiento de fauna silvestre para determinar la relación fauna – bosque – hombre, se realizó mediante recorridos, encuestas aplicadas a los trabajadores de la empresa, y revisión de investigaciones anteriores. El trabajo realizado fue socializado a los habitantes de la zona y trabajadores de la empresa propietaria y patrocinadora con el fin de lograr la sensibilización de la comunidad en el uso y aprovechamiento racional de los recursos, dando a conocer la biodiversidad allí existente, etnobotánica, y estrategias de conservación
dc.description.abstractenglishStudy carried out with the funding and support of the company, Greystar Resources Ltda., in order to know the richness and biodiversity of flora and fauna found in the territory of its property located in the wasteland of Santurbán, vereda Angosturas, municipality of California, Department of Santander; delimited and studied formations correspond to high Andean forest and Páramo vegetation, formed by forests of Polylepis, grasslands, scrub and Frailejonales. Characterization of the flora is made according to different methodologies according to the type of ecosystem, for forest high Andean used by the Alexander Von Humboldt biological resources Institute, was used for the vegetation of the Páramo applied the proposal made by Rangel in his article "Methods of study of vegetation". Recognition of wildlife to determine the relationship of fauna - forest - man, was carried out by means of tours, surveys applied to workers of the company, and review of previous research. The work done was socialized to the inhabitants of the área and workers of the company owner and sponsor in order to achieve the community awareness on the use and rational use of resources, informing the existing biodiversity and ethnobotany, conservation strategies
