dc.description.abstractEn el último siglo, los cambios del uso del suelo producto de las actividades humanas han tenido impactos significativos en la estructura de los paisajes en todo el planeta. La expansión de la frontera agrícola y pecuaria ha comprometido el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas y su capacidad para proveer servicios ecosistémicos esenciales para el bienestar humano. Por esta razón, se evaluó la relación entre la estructura del paisaje y la provisión de servicios ecosistémicos en fincas de pequeños productores de El Colegio, Cundinamarca, Colombia. La información se recolectó mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas que proporcionaron datos cualitativos sobre las percepciones que tiene dichos actores de su territorio (muestra 19 productores). Así mismo, los cambios en el paisaje se determinaron mediante un análisis de la estructura en tres periodos de tiempo, con ayuda de imágenes satelitales Landsat 5 y 8. Por último, se evaluaron los servicios y su comportamiento a través de la percepción de los productores, mediante la herramienta de análisis multicriterio. Con lo anterior, se obtuvo que para el periodo 1991 y 2015 el bosque pasó de cubrir el 55% a sólo el 2% del municipio, siendo la cobertura con la mayor capacidad para proporcionar servicios de regulación. Además, se evidenció un incremento en las áreas de cultivos, estas pasaron de ocupar el 27% al 62% del territorio. Por otro lado, se observó que el 49% de los productores perciben los servicios de regulación, sin embargo, sólo el 36% realizan actividades para conservarlos. De igual manera, se resaltó la importancia de los servicios de regulación del clima y del agua como también de provisión de alimentos. Como conclusión, se determinó que los servicios ecosistémicos se ven afectados negativamente por los procesos de cambio en la estructura del paisaje, entender esto, ayudará a promover estrategias para la conservación de los ecosistemas naturales. 1
dc.description.abstractenglishIn the last century, changes in land use resulting from human activities have had significant impacts on the structure of landscapes throughout the planet. The expansion of the agricultural and livestock frontier has compromised the functioning of ecosystems and their ability to provide essential ecosystem services for human wellbeing. For this reason, the relationship between landscape structure and the provision of ecosystem services on farms of small producers in El Colegio, Cundinamarca, Colombia was evaluated. The information was collected through semistructured interviews that provided qualitative data on the perceptions of these actors in their territory (shows 19 producers). Likewise, the changes in the landscape were determined by an analysis of the structure in three periods of time, with the help of Landsat 5 and 8 satellite images. Finally, the services and their behavior were evaluated through the perception of the producers, using the multicriteria analysis tool. With this, it was obtained that for the period 1991 and 2015 the forest went from covering 55% to only 2% of the municipality, being the coverage with the greatest capacity to provide regulatory services. In addition, there was an increase in crop areas, these went from occupying 27% to 62% of the territory. On the other hand, it was observed that 49% of the producers receive the regulation services, however, only 36% carry out activities to conserve them. Similarly, the importance of climate and water regulation services as well as food supply was highlighted. In conclusion, it was determined that ecosystem services are negatively affected by processes of change in landscape structure. Understanding this helps to promote strategies for the conservation of natural ecosystems. 3
